  • Chelsea have launched a £25m bid for Tottenham target Ross Barkley of Everton.
  • Arsenal's fed-up players want the club to sell Alexis Sanchez before the transfer window shuts on Thursday night.
  • Liverpool are hoping to spend as much as £140m in the final days of the transfer window as manager Jurgen Klopp makes a late push to add elite-level quality to his squad.

The standout word in your post is "if", we don't yet know what twists and turns are left in the transfer window, you should have no reason to be bitter anyway, if VVD ends up signing for us is it because we want him or because your owners are prepared to swallow their pride and to let him go for plenty of money?

Edit....the same would apply to us if our owners backtrack and sell Couthinho to Barca.

Agreed. Not bitter. I'd happily let him go to you for 40m plus Sakho just to get the whole thing done.

Despite all the speculation the FACTS remain, you are waiting for us to invite you to make a bid, we might not like your bid. Any decision is still in the hands of SFC not LFC.
If we sell in this window I won't be overly pleased, but I have accepted that he won't be a Soton player for very long anyway.

The transfer window is still officially open, as such LFC don't need an invitation to make a bid.

The FACT is we can bid whenever. The FACT is Southampton will already know the exact figure of that bid....if we are making one.
