This is intriguing:

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...nsfer-Liverpool-name-price-137m-Barcelona-fee

The reporter claims to be in the know, then says an offer of £104m will do the trick - when one of £10m more than that has been rebuffed. And, apparently, Ford saw his arse when we rejected the second £90m bid out of hand because he knows, apparently, that we are negotiating with Barca. If that is the case, why would he put in a TR and forego his cut of the transfer if he knew Liverpool were negotiating despite their public stance? Wut?

They're supposedly going to approach PSG for Di Maria, can imagine the the reaction from the frogs if Barca offer a transfer deal on the drip similar to the Couthinho one after demanding payment in full for Neymar.<laugh>

The lads heads not right, don't know about his back, but if he was withdrawn from the first two games for reasons other than injury FSG must have read Fergie's book on how he withdrew Giggs from Wales international games with non existent injuries.

:emoticon-0100-smile
Fergie was his manager and wanted him fit to play for his team, a bit different from a club withholding a player from their manager because they see the chance to make a few bob :emoticon-0105-wink:

No it's not, Fergie was preventing a whole nation from seeing their best player in the Euro's and WC based on a non existent injury.

FSG are protecting(if he isn't injured that is)their prize asset.

In other words both examples are dishonest.:emoticon-0103-cool:

So you reckon the club want the money then and have told Klopp he is not available to him in case he gets injured?

It could be either way.

The player vanished immediately after Bayern game.

The first Barca bid was 20th July. For whatever. It was as poor as this latest on in terms of up front payment.

The Bayern game was the 1st august. Reports prior yo this were player training normally.

The second bid was made on the 10th August, which then saw the transfer request. To add to this you should note that dembele missed training and didn't answer his phone around this time as well.

There was rumours of bids for 3/4 days prior to it going in so I assume coutinho was in up to his neck in discussions.

It's now the 19th so 18 days of back injury..... or... the guy down tools and barca sweated lfc and him for a while.

We can only assume lfc feeding friendly hacks about him attending treatment etc can be taken at face value.... but after that....

Well, sitting on the side nobody here can say lfc are not in protracted negotiations with Barca not... the transfer request makes no sense for the player himself if there was hope this was a continuing process. That's the logic anyway.

So one can only conclude that the player shat himself utterly when the dembele stuff happened and he agreed to do anything Barca asked of him. The fact Jim white and Guillem ballauge could tell everyone when the request was coming shows it was choreographed.

My opinion as it stands is he might have has a minor injury originally but he was taken out of Dublin game by club and since then he has been on gardening leave. The reason I think so is you can't believe a word out of fsg anyway so why not.
I doubt that actual negotiations are happening though... i very much doubt it.

The issue is there was 10 days between first bid and coutinho vanishing.. in that time he played and trained normally. After that point who knows what agreement was reached between agent, player, family and barca... we know coutinho changed his mind in there.

After that..... we come back to Barca failing to make any sort of offer that's realistic.

Pretty good reasoning <ok>

Diego must have read the headline but not the small print.
Nope, I listened to the interview, "I can only coach the players available to me, that's the clubs decision not mine".
The club are withholding this player from the manager for some reason, I can only think they see pound signs <ok>

The small print.

  • Coutinho winning multiple trophies in the same season
  • Winning multiple Champions League titles
  • Winning the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best player
  • Winning multiple trophies and the Ballon d’Or in the same season
  • Payment of the basic £80m fee staggered over five years

All we need is him to score 20 hat tricks for 2 seasons running, win world cup single handedly cos neymar is done for drugs.. win so, and copa del Rey and la liga, claim a golden balloon of some sort. Then win cl the following year....and while he does that we collect a cool 16mil each year to spend on oh I dunno... pizza for something.

Who could turn an offer like that down.
