yeah he talked like he wanted a nice open expansive game and hudderfield countered him and absolutely spanked him
Palace issue is the same issue fat same walked away from. CBs **** and CM weak. i was shocked he didn't address properly. If we spank them 6-0 of something (yeah right a clean sheet.... i wish!!!) then it might panic them into buying sakho... here is hoping.
it was a home tonking too... which may mean they were always going to go away to anfield with a more conservative approach
palace got in fonsu on loan.. a good move, and loftus cheek... both guys need to perform in this laon and grow up fast for palace.
The thing is... its not a bad outfit... nobody in the prem look a "bad outfit"

Lets really hope they are floundering and didn't learn a huge amount form our menaingless preseason game in asia... i'd hate to think they put on over on us cos they got a good sighter then.
he is but he is also not the finished article like silva, debryune and aguero. jesus isn't even the finished article.
They have 6 guys for 3 front slots.
they have probably a bit of work at CM to do at some point. they coudl do with one or two especially when toure goes and if they are serious about a back 3 i think they should buy vvd.
Not sure you are correct on Sane.
Sterling obviously doesn't have a brain but Sane is skillful and quick and has a lot of end product and more of a brain imo.
I think they can get away without gundogan as Fernandino is more than an adequate replacement
i expect you guys to smash them up. I think FDB and Palace are going to have a hard time (all theory after their huddersfield spanking). I look at their team and their midfield is really really poor and their defence cant pass for someone who wants to turn them into a technical side. They have Benteke, zaha and townsend who are either speedy or powerful but i wouldn't describe them as players who will pass and move and play clever balls. Zaha and townsend are two dribblers but if the CM can't get them the ball in space then they won't be useful
I found it maddening that klopp could pull them together at HT and give them a simple enough game plan to play high and wide and then we cut these guys up. The firmino/salah goal was in effect beating their press with a direct ball. (a hoof for utd fans who want to wum) and the firmino goals came about through similar cross field action.
Make no bones about it coutinho is a MONUMENTAL loss. he's blown the team spirit potentially too. the team need to show they can man up now.
I agree thought coutinho's shown no morals at all and willing to attack and lie to get his way which is pretty low. He could just have out in transfer request... but he informed barca of lfc statement.. got prepared... went to training. said nothing came home and sent email then had family leak he hates klopp and klopp is this and that.
It is basically do anything to move yet have the hand out for the 180k per week on a 5 year deal at the same time which really should be explained to all these guys. Contracts should really state... do x, y, z and wages halved... same as these release clauses they work both ways.
Really his actions are no better than VVDs. but if southampton can play the game with him then we can play the game with coutinho.
the only difference we know off as outsiders to the machinations is that LFC have not guided vvd's hand in what he did on his transfer requester whereas we all know barca are guiding even action coutinho takes.
It all boils down to this.
LFC get to CL groups... get barca.. .would you trust coutinho to play the game? I would not want him on the pitch..

yup... its all about work rate v Liverpool and hitting on break. IF LFC hold good sahpe (which henderson won't... i can already see zaha one on one with lovren) then either palace sit ten ebhind ball and surrender the pitcht to lfc to play in front OR the press high like watford and cause problems and get set piece.

No idea, never seen his ajax play and he did terrible at Inter (but so has every other manager who went their recently).
He sounds like he knows what he wants to do, apparantly he wanted a few long balls to beat the press but i didn't watch their match and at least it showed he was willing to be tactically flexible. However if he wants to be more expansive, i'm not sure the current team he has is able to do that yet and it might be a long season, especially when you get a new foreign coach and the players cannot play the way they want.
he's young... he is good but he can learn a lot more about the game. thats all. with you have silva, debruyne, aguero, jesus.... well... sane will have to take his chances when they come. very good player i agree lads but not going to be first choice this year.
I agree on sterling. when the manager needs to draw you a line for you to know where to stay yuo know its not great. sterling's biggest issue has always been finihsing. there is no way he's improving it.
Gundogan is the guy guardiola really wants in there.. its mroe about control of ball than smashing lads. I agree though.. fernandinho is good enough when the rest are on it.

If pep sticks to a 3-5-2 in order to use Jesus and Aguero, i can't see him getting much game time as theres not a winger in that formation.

It depends on how you see the 5... is it a 5? or is it 4 and 1... is silva vital? etc etc..

I agree with most of that. However, we've seen with Sakho that once Klopp feels a line has been crossed there's no going back. If he's pissed off that Coutinho is blaming him for not pandering to his every whim, then I doubt that he'll have any time for him from now on.
Which is why I said that rather than FSG going over his head regarding a sale, I'm guessing that he's passed the decision on to them.
He would have wanted them to hang onto Coutinho at any cost when he wanted to work with him, but having had all of this go on he's probably just told them to do whatever they think is best financially and he'll work with it.
I think he's a key player.
But I also don't think Pep will play the season out with 2 up top. Far too much quality in midfield to ignore imo.

Disagree about Sane. Sure he's got lots to learn but he's already better than most. When pep goes 4-3-3 i expect him to be used. If he doesn't, it's because pep wants more passers (so he'll chuck silva in there) rather than someone who is quick and can dribble.
Sterling can't finish and doesn't have a brain and can't play those nice passes. You can always learn to finish, Suarez was terrible in his first season missing loads of chances, likewise Coutinho was terrible at shooting when he first came (how he's proved me wrong). I agree finishing is normally a fine art but some people do learn it imo.
As for Gundogan, i agree he's going to be peps man as he can control the game. I think that would be a mistake though as i don't think he has the energy or the physicality of fernandino (plus fernandino knows the darks arts, stopping counters etc)
could well be right but if so he must move now and immediately to buy the replacement.
I've not idea what will occur or what has occurred but klopps comments about it being in the owners hands was very interesting.
He will definitely go wingbacks i think. Unless Mendy isn't as good as everyone thinks he is. He did bring on Sane for danilo but if Sane does play at wingback it will be more cause he's trying to fit him in rather than making the best team fit.
