I feel as though, in the light of this coutinho affair, that we should all apologise to Southampton.

No, now I mean it guys. We have been shown the way by Barca, when you love someone you need to show them PROPER attention. We have really been leaving Southampton to sit on the shelf like a wall flower when we really should be showing them how a big club operates.

I hope we can pay van dijk milkman to claim that pelligrino kicked his cat or maybe we could just ask all those handy lfc pundits to comment about van dijk. Maybe get a marquee outside anfield for the unveiling or of course pay le tiss to tell saints fa s exactly when we are about to low ball bid them..... finally.

No not yet lads, give it an hour... that sort of thing.

So... sorry Southampton... it's not that we don't love you... it's that you are a bit frumpy these days and could do with tarying yourself up a bit to attract us more ok...

Hang on. Aren't we supposed to be better than Barcelona? Resorting to these tactics make us no better than them. We have to show that we are big enough to play by the rules.

Sound Carl, the rules are, Couthinho is contracted up bigtime, he went behind the club's back along with his agent and agreed terms with Barca, so he was(according to the rules)tapped up.
We don't have to sell and the player could be punished by the club for the terms agreement without permission.
So do you not think our owners should report Barca and play hardball with the player?

It's all within the rules.<ok>

If there is proof of any of this then yes, report them <ok>

I said the other day that there should be no need for us to report it. Fifa, Uefa, or whoefa it is that's supposed to be in charge of these things can hardly have failed to notice this long drawn-out debacle. If the evidence is there then they should investigate their rules being flouted without any encouragement from us.

Quite right <ok>

Very true, but as that particular club pull the same stunt on a regular basis publicly bringing it to Uefa's attention seems logical and reasonable.

The circumstantial evidence is there, all the "terms agreed" stuff when they hadn't even been officially allowed to approach him and a mountain of other stuff. We all know they tapped him up, just as clearly as we did with van Dijk, but they weren't stupid enough to get caught red-handed. So it comes down to whether or not they can convince that it was all media speculation.
The whole thing smells worse than a fish's fanny, but whether it can be proven is another matter.
