Next South American we try and sign must have a paragraph included in the contract that he accepts he won't be allowed at any future date to sign for Barcelona whilst at LFC.
So no more South American players for us then.![]()
ZzzzzzzzzYou can't really blame Coutinho for wanting a move to a bigger club![]()

Keita has not forced the issue. He also had the option of handing in a transfer request. You can't really blame Coutinho for wanting a move to a bigger club![]()
I'm quite chilled about it all, if he goes then as long as we spend the money well then fine. Players come and go it's part of the game.
I don't think he's done a lot wrong, it's Barca and he wants to go just like Suarez did. I'm hoping we do the same as with Suarez and tell him he's not going but we will let him leave next season.
Yep agree on that. It was likely he would leave at some point in the near future, personally I thought next summer, but with the Neymar transfer obviously things have come forward a year.Same here tbh.
Some fans are threatening to give up following Liverpool (PL in general) because of it[HASHTAG]#kneejerk[/HASHTAG]
This is my worry over losing Couts, not actually losing him, but losing him and not replacing him. Klopp is stubborn and FSG are tight, its not a great prospect for transfers.I agree. However my issue is this bit, I have a horrible feeling we won't replace him or use the money elsewhere. Think we'll just 'make do'
Noticed alot of opposition fans doing this. Coming here saying we shouldn't begrudge Couts want to leave for someone like Barca and the truth is that most of us don't (read back). We've been resigned to the fact he will go as some point in the next couple of years for sometime. You can't really blame Coutinho for wanting a move to a bigger club![]()
Behave yerself, Bobby. At least try and make a valid point. He could have left ages ago and earnt a lot more but he stayed with you boys through the barren years
)? . He's only recently started to show some consistent form and almost immediately they're after him. Do you think anyone would have offered anywhere a top fee for him a couple of years ago?He was reported as saying that. Whether it's true or not is anyone's guess. When did he say that? I thought he kept quiet and everyone assumed that?
Now you are all feeling a little tinge of hurt & frustration, I'd like you to imagine, that young Phillip had been illegally tapped up, had his head turned so to speak, by a club that is considered much bigger. A club that does not play by the same rules as everyone else. Now imagine the annoyance, and how unfair that seems.
You there yet?
Good. From a Southampton fan.
The "make do" phrase is used by disgruntled fans - it's not the declared intention of FSG. They've shown a readiness to spend on worthwhile targets, but aren't so keen to spend on second best. You could just as easily describe this as sound business sense. This is my worry over losing Couts, not actually losing him, but losing him and not replacing him. There has been too much 'make do' from LFC in recent weeks and frankly that does not bode well for FSG's future with the Club, people are starting to get frustrated that every little bit of progress we make is not backed up and we slip back to not much better than where we started.
anyway within all this anger at coutinho, what i really want to know is how @astro is taking all this that they couldn't sign their top 2 signings and their star player wants to leave.......![]()
that's a great a meltdown.
Anyway, not on the WUM and the transfer request has take everyone by surprise but not sure you can say all that.
Yeah he was nothing at Inter and he's made his name here at Liverpool but he's hardly been ungrateful (except this instance). He's never moaned about getting paid **** all and even when sterling was getting paid **** loads and coutinho was on what 30k a week, he never asked for a pay rise. He was on 75k for ages even though he was carrying the team and its literally last January where he's done a VVD and got his 150k a week which he wants to renege on.

Klopp has said many times he doesn't want players who aren't his primary targets, whether or not that's wise is something else we'll have to wait and see.
Speaking of which - the window doesn't close for a while yet.
