I presume the assumption is they'd go FSG out or something. the thing was after suarez left they did not.

SoS will probably be more active on anfield road end that any signings or sales. and are trying to keep themselves relevant playing with the whole safe standing issue.
Did you know they won Cooperative of the Year run by Social Enterprise NW a few years back?

nope cos they are largely irrelevant grouping or thats what the club want to make them with the whole supporter interaction efforts they are doing. they started for one reason but are trying to keep going and turn into a more of a fans rights issue group.

they were involved in the ticket price protest as well. that cost LFc european football in the end that year 2-0 up and game ends 2-2... ooops.

Wasn't just the SOS there though Tobes although they did organise the protest, nothing wrong with that way of protesting as long as it's peaceful and sticks to the issue it was called for.
FSG would deffo face some form of protest if they sell to Barca for Megabucks and don't spend on players before the window closes.
No guarantee VvD will sign for us anyway and apart from Keita we ain't been heavily linked to any others as those two.

well TBH i read about carragher and souness discussing coutinho and then redknapp discussing VVD.

Mills is an outsider so maybe carragher knows something we don't about the one more year. But i did feel on sky the pair of souness and carragher did sound quite pro LFC so i would be fine with anyone calling them on it.

Redknapp gave saints the opposite treatment and probably riled the **** out of quite a few saints fans.

I understand what you are saying about barca and all that as well... but real are the club in the ascendancy in Spain now, I think they overestimate their appeal currently. Not that LFc can hold a guy, just that a guy would be more inclined to go to real or psg it seems.

I'd also agree on VVD. I think arsenal or Chelsea will buy him close to deadline day.

MITO, They are still a massive draw!
Real are the best team in Europe but Barca were only 1 win off pipping them to the title.
They go deep in the CL every year.
Win major trophies most years (7 in the last 5 years and the Spanish cup last year)
Messi, Suarez, Inestia and the rest.
The city, the culture and the weather.

As a South american at a PL club, having won nothing in his time there, it's a no brainer sadly. He's definitely gonna want to go.

Having said all that, he's not a prima donna and don't think he'll agitate for the move.
I reckon he'll stay for this season but will go next summer.

yes but are the the no 1 draw or the no 3 draw? thats my point. they are on the wane slightly (probably like when guardiola came to the job in fairness to them) their team looks unbalanced and lacking depth... I said LFc were never holding a guy if the come calling but that the other 2 might well be bigger draws now. you'll not i didn't include giants like juve or bayern in that. they are big but not as big a draw as barca.

Yes i agree with all your points but that doesn't change the fact their midfield has got worse and defence needs a lot of work.

all your points are valid.. its just real are top dogs (til some idiot sacks zidane) and PSG are now paying top whack to be the big european team it seems.

I i add in donga's point on not letting them walk over us to having a couple more clubs willing to psend big and we can sell coutinho on the back of a big world cup to any of them for +50% of what barca have offered.

Right up until coutinho sulks and puts in the request.

I'll give you Real but they don't need or want him, Barca do.

As for PSG, no doubt they have the money but they ain't a bigger draw than Barca.
Also, could they sign him for 100-120M and still stay within the FPP regulations having done the Neymar deal. I'd be expecting a couple of the squad to be sold before the window closes (Lucas Moura and another one I reckon)

Barcelona chiefs fly to England
12:00: Barcelona have sent a delegation to England in a bid to sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool TODAY.
According to Spanish sports paper Mundo Deportivo, General director Oscar Grau, Director of Soccer Raul Sanllehi and director Javier Bordas have left the city and headed to England to try and finalise a transfer for Coutinho.
The Catalans had a £72million bid rejected by Liverpool in July but are yet to make a second offer.
It is also reported Barcelona want to close the deal today then move on to Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.

Yeh you're probably right on all of that. Only know what's on their site and questioned tobes assertion of a meltdown if vvd went to them as that's not what they're about.

In a way holding Coutinho now would be a huge and symbolic victory. Which would be worth more than the £100m-£110m we could get from Barca.

Whenever we've come close to winning the title, the next year we've lost our eye catching players. The ones that made us a really good and title chasing team. We lost Suarez after a great run and close to getting the title. Did we also not lose key players like Masch and Alonso after a good season?

If we lose Couthino, we will find it very difficult to get a title chasing team as everytime we get close we'll have vultures swooping to pick our best players. Keeping Coutinho would mean that this is no loger the case.

I hope that the club will support Klopp in fighting to keep him at all cost.

Just listening to Danny Mills saying that Carra has 'Liverpool-tinted spectacles' for saying that he believes Ford will stay, at least for this year. 'If Barca call you have to go', being the logic. But hang on, Carra wasn't denying the player would like to go, or even that Liverpool won't eventually sell him: the issue, that Mills seems oblivious to, is that Liverpool nowadays are cash rich enough to say no, as are most Prem clubs now. Indeed, PSG told them to **** off over Verrati.

Certainly, the days of being butt-****ed as we were over Luis are over. Mills reckons that ultimately the player has all the power - well up to a point, but as we now see with VVD and hopefully Ford, that doesn't mean, if a player 'becomes' unsettled (like Masch did acting under orders from Barca), that Barca can get them for cheap. As Comolli says, Prem clubs can simply say no to that now - have Barca (and FSG too) got that message?

So you're wrong Danny, at least about saying the player holds ALL the cards: the selling club in the Prem don't have to roll over and sell at knockdown prices anymore, and that is Barca's MO all over. Also means that if and when VVD moves, Soton can get £60m for him (probably not from us the way I see it now), or simply say no deal. Certailny, we can - do FSG have the balls?
Statement.
Danny Mills is a gobshite
Summary.

That's just a regurgitation of a rumour put out by Mundo Deportivo.

yup. did they bring their doctors? where will they do the medical like.... We all know the song and dance Spanish clubs make medicals into so right form the off anyone with a brain sees through that guff.
