Straw poll time http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spor...-maintain-philippe-coutinho-transfer-13448682 were you born yesterday? YES....coutinho has a back injury NO.... its complete horse **** waiting for the barca bid.
According to Sky sources he trained normally today and was excellent. Stirring the brown stuff or reporting him as being fit to face Watford? Option 1 for me.
COUTINHO TRAINING CLAIM 13:56: Philippe Coutinho is attempting to force through a move to Barcelona by performing poorly in training, according to sensational claims. Yahoo Sport say Coutinho has told Jurgen Klopp TWICE that he wants to leave for Barca and is angry with his insistence that no transfer will happen. A source also claims Coutinho is “doing little in training” and “wants to ensure he gets his move”. Bookies cut Van Dijk to Liverpool odds 12:55: Liverpool are far from done in this transfer window, according to Ladbrokes. With Philippe Coutinho as short as 2/5 for a big money move to Barcelona, the bookies have been forced to slash the odds of both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain AND Virgil van Dijk moving to Anfield after a flood of bets.
so is sky or the echo wrong? very hard to say. perhaps both are "right" in that he was at melwood getting treated. Or perhaps neither are right.... who knows... someone is stirring it anyway.
VvD + Chamberlain for Coutinho: Fair exchange? Not for me. It would indicate that we are no better than Southampton as a selling club. We buy the players cheap, develop them and when they become stars they get recruited by Barcelona. They picked Masch, Suarez from us as much as we picked Lovren, and Lallana from the Saints.
BBC peddling the yahoo story now. Getty Images "More now on Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho. According to Yahoo Sports, the 25-year-old playmaker is trying to force a move to Barcelona by "doing very little in training". The Brazil international has told Jurgen Klopp that he wishes to leave Anfield for the Catalan club and is said to be displeased Liverpool are unwilling to sell." If he's going get him sold, if he's staying no matter how much Barca throw on the table it should be FSG making the statement because Klopp's already made his opinion known.
Something is amiss regarding Coutinho's transfer , either the owner are not willing to commit their own money, they want funding of new players via sales of our players or they want to bail out.
It's not an 'exchange' anyway. Judging the deal on itself, Barca have £198m in their pocket, and we want upwards of £130m of it, if he goes at all. As to the reports that he's not trying in training - remember a) he's supposed to be having his back treated, isn't he? b) even worse case scenario, Luis did all this after the Arsenal fiasco, but still ended up nearly winning us the league single-handed. One suspects, by all the mouthings from their placemen in the media (and not just the Catalan ones) that some sort of now-or-never ultimatum has been issued to Ford : so ****ing what? If he emulates Luis this season and knuckles down, next season the likes of PSG will call for him anyway, a bigger club than Barca now.
Surely even Ford understands that we don't want cast-offs, and if Barca REALLY want him when they have £198m in their pocket, they'd pay the asking price and stop ****ing about with brinksmanship. Otherwise, Ford, for all your 'dreams' that they're trying to stoke, they don't really want you as much as they're saying. PSG wouldn't fanny about like this.
Arsenal have brought one in Lacazette? United have brought two in Lukaku and Matic. Everton have brought one in klassan and even then never know how Dutch players are going to do. Chelsea have brought in 3 expensive players, but lost their centre forward and top scorer from last year and one of their CMs that was regular. Its only really city that have spent big and strengthened areas that they were really weak on.
Arsenal have 2 but good point. That left full we wanted looks very good already Everton have keane and rooney as well as klaasen I agree on cheslea. they are actually weaker right now in risk and number. Morata is quality but he needs to settle and costa seems royally pissed. matic leaves a hole as his replacement was bought injured (oops) City IMO have bought the league or tried too. really really good addtions though, but not srue about shape of team. Utd have bought a cb, cm and striker... again... same spine strengthening they want another.
