Yeah Mane was a bonus last year. So was Matip. No left back or DM was the glaring thing though, and we did feel that as the season went on. Oh, and ****ing Karius was a disaster.
I think he was just about value last year and looks real value this year. It was a good fee for southampton then. Pogba was a terrible signing that no other club in euope would match.. that tells us all something when this year psg will pay 194mil for mr neymar.
I think southampton dealt with us fast cos we paid the fee they wants early.

IF it WERE real Van Dijk will that any offer coming to him as he has to. simple. He gave LFC what they wanted by saying he wanted us and then LFC failed to follow up and actually went away. IF i were him sitting there now pushing it for all he is worth and LFC are saying well..... you know... we are scared to bid... well i'd be saying **** you to LFC.
the CM hurt IMO... and yeah karius was useless and is still useless, but the lack of options up top prob cost us most.

IMO if that all occurs then Kieta needs to be gerrard mark ii.
IMO coutinho is ABSOLUTELY critical to the teams functioning in a no 8 role and if we sell him for less than 100million POUNDS not euros... we would be mad.
In the end we would end up with a midfield of keita, henderson and lallana not henderson keita and coutinho.
IMO coutinho supplying mane and salah is our plan and thats what we will see.

we would have sold our star player and spent £40m for what could possibly be a CB who never returns to his previous form* & a one season wonder who has never played in the PL.
More seriously the prices being quoted for both VVD & Keita are way above market value , such as there is such a thing these days , yet the price being offered for Coutinho is about what you would expect.
* i feel that any defender is going to look shaky playing for us with the way we set up plus there seems a distinct lack of organisation particularly at set pieces suggesting a training fault
so like last season with a LB we are going to hope no injuries or loss of form happen all season - what could possibly go wrong
I'm with you...makes us look like chumps..unless we end up bettering our position last year it'll be more of selling the star to buy not to improve and build.
Would also make a liar out of Klopp either because he would be or more worryingly because his bosses threw him under a bus.
Don't get me wrong coutinho isn't Suarez but that's a point in itself.. we'd be down to selling not even our world class main men...very definition of a selling club.

Thing is though, IF Jurgen is putting his foot down (even if Ford puts in a request) then the club have to back him, even if it means Ford goes on strike. IMO that is the case as i have this vision going forward.... but... if we fail to recruit to solve the defensive crisis we will do nothing this year. we are ****ing awful at times at the back.
IMO with the front 3 and lallana we could make do which is FSG all over. We would in effect swap salah for coutinho in the side and have no cover... again ... which again is FSG all over.
