Depends though, Van Dijk and Keita have #nailedon offers so know they are losing about £80,000 (several times their current wage) every week their desired move is obstructed. Once at Liverpool, any move to another club wouldn't have quite the same financial jump being dangled in front of them.
No vvd is on 65k so is losing 120k per week every week southamptonndont sell him.... to Chelsea... Keita is multiples about 150k per week loss for ever week his jerk off club holds him
Maybe, but for me it's more to do with what it shows about their attitude than the nuts and bolts of the financial side. If Dick can sulk when he doesn't get his own way on one thing, who can say he won't in other matters as well? As for Keita's incident, it might just be a one-off thing - but if he's a narky get generally then that can have a bad influence in the dressing-room. I don't know enough to make a judgement, but it just warms up a few warning bells for me.
Kolo Toure did it at Arsenal on his first training session wiped out Wenger. Got him a contract and became brilliant CB in title winning team
Naby Keita's rapid rise from unknown teenager to £70m Liverpool target http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-unknown-teenager-to-163-70m-liverpool-target
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...arcelona-ramp-LFC-star-Philippe-Coutinho.html 89m? Surely some ****ing mistake? £89m? That's £11m less than Carlton Pogba (without the agent's fees). £89m? Just £14m more than Lukheskey? Was hoping we'd keep hold for just one more year, but I doubt it now. But talking of agents fees, IF (bloody big if) we do land VVD and Keita for a combined £135m, presumably it's us who pay the agents' fees - and, being realistic, we don't get either now unless their agents can pull off some magic - and not the selling club? Dunno how true it is, but rumour had it that we paid the agent's fee for Luis even though Barca were the ones pressing.
What annoys me most this window is that the two biggest transfer sagas, with pages and pages of coverage, backtracking and general blundering around are both our own! Other teams have made big signings with minimal fuss; City have spent around 125m on fullbacks where the only media coverage was when the deal was done pretty much. How are we so inept? Even if we end up with Van Dijk and Keita, in terms of PR, this window will have been a shambles and an embarrassment.
its simple when city turn up clubs know what they get. when we turn up clubs expect low ball bids and flip flopping until we either pay what they want or the player goes elsewhere. I doubt any of our first bids have EVER been accepted under FSG. its almost like they HAVE to low ball clubs to see what happens
