What happened with the Man City 'stall'?
I don't believe this rumour for a minute tbh.
The medical revealed he only had one leg, so we will buy him to keep Sturridge company

Bournemouth have reportedly launched a £6m move for Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent.
The 20-year-old came through the youth system at Liverpool, but he has only ever made one first-team appearances for the Reds, and that came in the FA Cup against Exeter City in January 2016.

In fairness the lad is half decent. Not much end product but hes got to go now to have a career so yeah... 6mil.. good price.

We won't "build a proper squad" by getting shot of everyone who isn't at the top level before we have someone who is.
It seems to me that people bemoan our lack of squad depth without actually having a firm grasp on what that means. If we expect to have two or three top, relatively equal players for each position -even key positions- then we're living in fantasy world.
Lucas is the very definition of a squad player for the level we've been at for the last few years. Can do a job, but needs to be improved upon if possible.
If, and when, possible -not jettisoned too early, leaving us with an even thinner squad.
It's not sentimentality, it's pragmatism.

Former Liverpool performance coach Darren Burgess is set to join Premier League rivals Arsenal as the Gunners look to make significant moves to strengthen their backroom staff with a radical shake-up.
The 43-year-old Australian worked for the Reds between 2010-13, serving under Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers as their head of fitness.
Of course, we have to improve that - but of necessity it has to be done gradually. Keep bringing in better players and those currently second choice will slip further down - then they can be released. We simply don't have enough players to be getting rid so easily.thats the issue the level we have been at.
at any other period of our history... including 1990-2008 he'd not have lasted after that injury.
the fact is we've decided time and again over 5 years not to replace and improve.
or worse we bought chalie adam![]()

You don't throw away your old boots until you've got new ones.
Anyway, I don't want to argue this with you ad infinitum - I think you're wrong on this, and you think I am, can't we just leave it at that?
How's the weather your way?
Good. I'm off to a party in a bit, and I'm not driving. Might have a couple of shandies.I just hope the period in which that making do is over and we are able to compete. That the period post bankruptcy (which it was in a but name) is now past.
Super. Kid are in the blow up pool and bbq prep is under way![]()
