Solanke scored the winner in a 1-0 victory for England under 20's against Mexico. Now in the semi finals for the first time in 24 years. Plat Italy next for a place in the final. Shown live on Facebook on Thursday evening if anyone is suffering football withdrawal symptoms now the season is over
don't think its live on thursday night think it is 12.00 am ko GMT and is on eurosport from 12

I'm not going to pretend that I've watched any of Southampton this year, so someone please explain what were getting for £50M. Especially after the fact he's been injured for half the season.

He took his goal well. Think he will be more of a challenge to Origi, assuming Sturridge stays. You never know though if he is given a chance and takes it he may become a first team regular. Still very young
being housebound atm i have seen a fair bit of the england games & i cannot see Solanke making the first 11 in the PL for at least another year but probably never.

Why does everyone think they we are getting VVD. The papers have changed their tune so many times

Pace, strength, aerial ability, passing ability, sound positional sense.

Brilliant defender in other words

We received £146m in prize and TV money this past season. That's before sponsorship, tickets, reserves of money already in the club and any other funding. PL clubs are loaded.

There was a story the other day that Sunderland, finishing last, earned more money from TV (domestic football) than Juventus who obviously won the title.

I'd just say looking solely at the top line that is true.... but the reality is the bottom line is very different.

Are clubs loaded.... maybe but players and agents are taking most of it.

Ok so let's just all calm down here and make sure we piss Jimmy off as much as possible.

How about a 343 now?

Mingolet
Loren Matip van dijk
Clyne Henderson wijnaldum milner
Mane salah coutinho
Can you fit as many of Jimmy pet hates into the side as possible?

Move Salah to the left and replace Coutinho with Ings?

Lucas instead of Matip?

I'm not too sure either. Watched a lot of them last season and he was bang-average. There's no question he has improved this season but on the rare occasion I watched him play (usually when they played Spurs), I still couldn't see what all the fuss was about. And as you've correctly pointed out, it's one thing performing at a high level for the first half of the season. It is something else entirely maintaining that form when the fixtures start piling up and the legs start to turn to jelly. £50m for 3 decent months of football is an awful lot. But then again, if John Stones is "worth" that amount...

To my mind, your glaring weak spots are at LB and DM. You've got a bunch of very, very decent CM's at Anfield but none of them hold a candle to the likes of Kante or Wanyama in terms of shielding the defense.
