Yes I think having speed on both flanks will massively help against sides that sit back. I also think he'll be ideal for the high press.

I don't think he'll get as many starts as Mane or Coutinho, as he might be used as a Lallana alternative. I expect he'll be rotated more than he thinks.

I've really warmed to the idea, I really think he could be a very clever signing. Ready made Klopp player.

I don't think we will as Klopp has said in the past that he doesn't need to sign players he has worked with before. He wants to coach and develop new players.

However, if we can afford him, I think we would be stupid to not try and get him

I realise the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere, but most of the African countries are north of the Equator aren't they? And around the equator there's no discernible difference anyway, unless the monsoon patterns affect it?
Surely December-January would provide the coolest periods for the highest number of participants?
The handful of leagues I took a quick look at seemed to cover roughly the same period as ours. Kenya was an exception.

but yeah... if you'd a choice between this guy and VVD for 70mil.. well its a no brainer.

Nah i've said a few times that he's good and he didn't get the chances at Chelsea. His record is very very good for Roma.

Not sure if i would pay 40m for him though. It depends who moves in the market. If lacazette is 50m then i think you'd be better off going for him as i think a striker is more important than a winger.

40m isn't too bad, maybe a little bit pricey. Knowing you guys though you'll overpay and go 50m

I would say most is a slight exaggeration but a majority of best would be but there lots who are basically aorund the equator

Its really only the most northerly states that would be suffering in the heat in june i suppose. I would guess the issue is SA is largely on its own down there in theres of the power in fifa. zambia are there, but most of the other big countries are in the north and i think that influences when the tournament is.

Two thirds is in the north - that'll do for "most of" in my book, though perhaps it would'nt have hurt to say majority.
The equatorial ones should be coolest in December and June when the sun is furthest away, though other weather patterns could influence it. I still say that December to February would be the coolest for the most people.
Which is why I assumed the competition is played around then.

I think if we're spending £40m on him then he'll be one or first choice players. Him on one side with mane on the other and Firm In the middle.
 
Don't forget that for the half of Africa below the equator, summer is in our winter. Besides-

Average Temperature in January in Equatorial Guinea - 25.

Average Temperature in July in Equatorial Guinea - 24.

I'd say that's obviously not the problem really - this is:

Average rainy days in January - 4. Average rainfall over the month - 42mm/1.6 inches.

Average rainy days in July - 21. Average rainfall over the month - 284mm/11.2 inches.

Central Africa is in wet season when the usual tournaments take place.

I don't think the more they cost reflect's that as much these days tbh. The prices are so high for anyone now, you can't play everyone every game.

If he slots in on the left then he'll be a starter, if he's not as comfortable on the left as I hope he'll be rotated more than you think, imo.
