West Ham have £6m bid rejected for Defoe. Apparently asked Sunderland to name their price.

They cant afford to sell even for say £20m. He's their best chance at survival and if they survive it's worth £100m

i agree. tell them to absolutely chuff off and not waste their time nor upset thier player.

counter bid 4 mil publically for payet just to make a point if they don't want to listen
 
Yeah just been reading that. Julian Brandt is a top target supposedly, OxCh and Gabigol are linked if we can't get him.

Klopp wants FW/AM reinforcements and not defenders
 
Would hope for a CM. when everyone's fit Mane Firm and Cout will be hard to dislodge as a front 3 so anyone we get prob won't be first choice. Also have sturridge and Origi behind them.

Where as CM with Hendo Lallana and Gini, good options but can certainly be improved upon, especially the depth as only have Can that can play there.

Perhaps, depends on who is actually available and at what cost. You usually get better players for your money in summer.

If we get a marginal improvement for £40m now as opposed to adding that money to summer budget and building a title winning team over the summer.

Granted, we do still need to fix a few positions, and we're not far off the top.

deliberately not signing anyone yes.

just throwing money at anyone won't work though. I would hope klopp has a clear idea of who and if he doesn't get anyone its cos they are not available.

just buying anyone usually ends in disaster.

At minimum i HOPE we pick up a couple of longer term projects.
 
Everton signed lookman. Good talent by all accounts.. might get game time with bolasie being out for a year as well
