Ings is another one that's classed as a free but he won't be. On that note, as the FA set a fee for this transfer yet? Oh and you can't under-estimate effort. I'd take Ings over Benteke, Mario or Berbatov types every day of the week.
Yes i saw that but according to everyone i've seen he was free (maxi that is) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/8457706.stm http://www.transferleague.co.uk/liverpool/english-football-teams/liverpool-transfers http://www.thisisanfield.com/2015/01/5-years-maxi-rodriguez-proved-free-signings-can-still-great/
I'd take benteke. Doesn't suit you spoilt liverpool fans who don't enjoy a 1 in 2 record until you guys ruined him
I asked that couple days ago... seems to be going on ages and no real announcement. If I was Burnley I would have wanted the money before Jan window opens to spend it!
There is a delay because he's injured. He can't increase his value whilst injured. Things such as playing for England after the transfer as happened...
Interesting to see how Klopp uses Matip. He's better as a LCB but can play as RCB or DM. He's better than Lovren, Skrtel and Lucas but not sure I see him as a starter - very good squad player to have at the very least, same applies to Havard Nordtveit.
The problem i see is no team who has bought a lot of players has ever done well the following season as you need team chemistry as well as a bedding in period. You should be adding a few pieces at a time who will then lift the squad to a higher level if they are a quality signing. You have added grujic and matip and sounds like nordtveit but are these the really high quality signings you need. You dont need to bloat your squad out with solid/average players else you will end up in the situation you are in now where if your players arent performing as a team you have no one special to bail you out
As much as I agree with that (always believed adding a couple of quality signings is much better than added five or six decent players), I think we'll see a fair few comings and goings this summer. We have too much crap in our squad for it not to happen.
In terms of the supposed Ings hype, He is a player that will work his socks off, Has good movement, a knack for being in the right place and knows where the net is and will undoubtedly fit what klopp wants in his forwards eventually, hes still someone that can develop if he can return from his injury with the same physical ability as his desire is in no doubt even in his short time hes showed that at least. im a fan anyway.
No we need to get rid of the **** and replace them with better. Matip is a better option than Toure, Lovren and Skrtel. If we can replace certain players with even slightly better quality for free, then that's a good thing. Means we not only save the money we could have spent replacing players like Toure or Skrtel but also make money by selling the deadwood in the squad. Pretty obvious then that money saved and made can be spent on the one or two high quality players needed. And anyway its February its very unlikely any serious transfers are going to happen atm, just pre contracts for July freebies.
I'll admit that I haven't seen much of him this season, where he's apparently played quite well. Technically good, but inelegant and not very good at playing forwards. Dangerous at set pieces (in the good way). Makes mistakes sometimes. The Schalke fans are more annoyed with Horst Heldt that they're not getting any money for him. Some will miss him, some won't. In conclusion: I remain unconvinced, but if he can cut out the mistakes, then he could be decent.
BobbyZ has got Brighton playing sexy football as well, that is true When the ball hits the goal it's not Shearer or Cole it's, ZAMORA!
