he's been poor. He only had a breif good period and then ran out of spurs and has made disaterous moves. cardiff and qpr who both couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. As a result he's not learned a thing about defending and at southampton he's been ignored and let get un fit. There is ZERO point is discussing hi mas southampton won't release loan and we certainly won't loan him. I'd say he'd cost all of 500k. QPR are in rag order.
newcastle actions this winodw are interesting. Shelvey... the nut job to go with their nut job up front. and saivet from bordeaux who i thought was ok but not sure he's good enough for the prem. new midfield.... not the area i would have said needed lots of players.
**** mccunty is reporting it on bbc... jeeeeeezzzz... we aint getting a cb then. Klopp must like his 4 cbs... poor ilori... we are loaning in a total chump to cover toure so ilori doesn't have to be used
He was terrible when we played Southampton, I'd have thought that display would have been enough. On the other hand we need a center back as even with Ilori Back we are short.
I think its just pretty funny given how hard jimmy defended Ilori that we get this report that a guy show's really messed himself up is linked to us as a loanee in the same position. I hope its just another fakey one. but i'll not be shocked.
It seems strange but I don't think we can rely on Toure as he's at times terrible and is injury prone. If he got injured we'd possibly be in the **** so it does make a certain amount of sense. What would make more sense though is just to go out and buy one of our targets.
It seems a case of Ilori not being on his radar........... Jürgen Klopp has reported ‘good news’ on Liverpool’s injury front ahead of Wednesday night’s clash with Arsenal. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager revealed Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure may come into contention to face the Gunners following knocks. Elsewhere, Klopp also confirmed positive developments on the fitness of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Jordon Ibe, although Dejan Lovren remains sidelined due to a hamstring problem. The boss explained: “The situation now is better than it was two or three days ago because I think Kolo will be available, so we will have a senior centre-back. “Mama wants to be available, hopefully we can use him and then we’ll see. "Martin is still a few weeks and Dejan feels good but the time of his injury was January 5 at Stoke, so it’s only been six days until now and eight until Arsenal and United will be 12. It’s close and there’ll be a moment when we have to decide if it’s risk, or if it’s a risk we could try. But it’s not the moment for this and we have to wait. “That’s the situation, so we will probably have Kolo and Mama and the next one is Lucas [at centre-back].” Klopp added: “Jordon Ibe, Jordan Henderson and Mama, who I spoke about, is three [pieces of] good news. “Millie [Milner] was, but we left him at home when we were in Exeter. He is still in training. They are all good news.”
I read this with a little.... hmmm interesting... Lucas is his third CB strongly. Can is not. Ilori looks to me to be a little light for the prem but clearly for this period of time Klopp at best for ilori thinks he's not fit (like say flanagan)
I like the idea of Lucas becoming a CB. He has the quality, and there shouldn't be a future for him in our midfield
Beneke will be back to help on set-pieces, and in normal play I prefer Lucas' reading of the game over Skrtel's
Now that's an idea, stick Benteke back there he's good at holding his position and is good in the air..
Ilori is so unfit. The way he was blowing after about 70 minutes against Exeter there's no way he's going to be able to pull a full 90 minutes in a PL game. He's very tall which is helpful but too slim at the moment, would get pushed around and bullied so can see why Klopp prefers Toure.
Caulker's crap. Had massive hopes when he joined us but didn't really show anything impressive as far as I recall.
Its our new policy. Instead of buying players that played well against us, we're now going for players that played **** against us.
hard question. 1. can we get a buyer 2. would he go given the massive wage he is on. 3. can he ever get fit. Answers: hmmm maybe, probably not and probably not.
he's not big enough, carragher had the organisational skills and big mouth to do it. lucas has not. Lucas can fill in like say carrick but he's never a long term or even medium term option.
no.. his only grace is enrique was so bad beside him that ilori had to do a lot of basic work. I agree very slim for a 23 year old CB in the prem. He is as tall as benteke so yes that is in his favour. The lad has got to think... hey.. either i get a transfer now, or i buckle down and work very hard for the next month and see if he gets a game at all or he simply swans about as he's been doing and gets shoved out in summer. All he can do is go work. Klopp's not one to not look as a player and see what can be got out of them.
