the ilori stuff has just hit sky... needs to be done by 8.

SO thoughts?

the kid has bascially missed his chance in preseason or was rodgers never going to give him a chance or has his injury record counted against him?

I think you said option to buy didn't you guys?

Shame about Ilori.

Loan with view of perm deal.. if he does well we lose out and prob get about £5m for him. Does pants then we loan him out again to some other random team... don't see how this is a win for us.

Anyone surprised?

We have a manager who blags about giving youth a chance but only if they're his own signings.

Another talented player out on loan - I wouldn;t have a problem but it;s the option to buy which annoys me.

Spend so much on talented youngsters only for them to be bombed out at the first opportunity. Expect the same to happen to Origi next year.

But never mind - let's continue to give Skrtel, Lovren and Toure a chance though. <ok>

I think the only excuse is injuries... he only got in <10 games in a full year at granada and got injured at Bordeaux.

all i can say is if he was told he'd get games this year he didn't believe it. I do expect the lumbering presence of toure told him that.... was ther fight there? I don't know....

all i can say is im not looking forward to seeing europa with toure now and i am glad sahko didn't leave.... but does anyone see him in the villa side? i eman really? does he displace one of theirs?

United filed their part of the paperwork for the De Gea deal on time, that should give them a case for the deal to allowed to complete despite the late posting of the documents from Madrids end.

Madrid are Spanish football, they'll steam roller this through. Just watch.

They've decided to not even appeal the decision now, according to reports. The whole sage was a shambles from the very start to the bitter end.

I wonder how David will feel when he arrives in Manchester <laugh>

Exactly this. It's as if they've not been paying attention. Van gaal is ruthless.

If de Gea was going, leg is the last person who would keep it secret. He wouldn't have played a minute during season and would have been given a different squad number by now. One of his good friends dared to refuse to play in the u21. He's now for sale.

<laugh>

They know they can sign him up to a bosman in four months

Not sure what you are laughing at. He's not signed for Real Madrid.

Did you miss that bit? Its been headline news all day long...

Echo:

- Option to buy at £6-9m depending on appearances.

- Ilori wanted to stay but Rodgers told him his chances would be limited and reluctantly accepted move to Villa.

- Unlikely to return.

Thanks Rodgers <ok>

No but you lot have missed out on £18m and a keeper instead lose him for a few mil in Jan or freebie in the summer <ok>

Would you sign for them now as its clearly their fault entirely?

If I were him and I still wanted to move, I would be looking at Barcelona.

Have Barca said they want him?, are Barca his hometown club?, are you him?

You expect the lad to knuckle down for the rest of the season on £35k a week and earn the club millions.<laugh>

He'll be off pronto as soon as possible amigo.<ok>

The only reason he didn't join was Matths Jinx thread - absolutely melted the deal.

'Mori is not good enough'
Everton sign Ramiro Funes Mori for £9.5m

South American football expert Tim Vickery on BBC Radio 5 live: "I would love to be wrong about Ramiro Funes Mori. But the only really good thing I can say about him is that language is not going to be a problem. That's important for defenders, because defending is nothing if it's not collective. When Argentina's economy tanked in 2001, Mori's family relocated to Dallas, Texas. He grew up there and speaks very good English as a result.

"He's left-sided, and he can play left-back as well. But I don't think he has the quality, the physicality or the pace to survive in the Premier League."

Official website says just a loan with no added so the Echo must have something extra.

Again.... dunno but he needed preseason this year to prove himself.

We are not taking a loss on him if the fee is that so at least that's something.

He was never going to be given preseason. Even after doing well at the u21 tournament and being injured, Skrtel and Lovren were given the most opportunities.

Need to stop kidding ourselves that Rodgers would give everyone game time and give them opportunities - he always had an idea of who would be starting and he will not deviate from this, injury permitting. Meritocracy my ar*e.
