There was. One was balotelli, one was markovic. don't really get what you're trying to argue? We had the money and spent it...

Well, that's an edge that cuts both ways isn't it?

No-one has said everything's fine, mito, just that there are more factors to be taken into consideration with regards to our transfer policy than are usually taken into account here. It seems to me that people just jump all over our negotiators without appreciating the difficulties of the task they face.
Would you like to be in charge of selling our club to the world's players at the moment- given the competition? I bloody wouldn't.
Ok, you can complain about their choices between several players of a similar, decent level, but that wasn't my point. It's the people who seem to think that getting whoever they want is simply a matter of will and expertise that I take issue with.

Incidentally, quite a few on here thought Markovic would be a decent acquisition. Balotelli- well, perhaps a few hopeful dreamers.

England defender John Stones was targeted by Everton fans at his home in Widnes after handing in a transfer request and is now staying in a hotel. (S*n)

Representatives of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea are increasingly confident the 24 -year-old Spain international will join Real Madrid by the end of the transfer window. (Daily Mirror)

Liverpool and Serbia winger Lazar Markovic, 21, a £20m signing from Benfica last summer, is joining Fenerbahce on a season-long loan. (Daily Mail)

And the Reds expect Italian striker Fabio Borini, 24, to leave the club before Tuesday's transfer deadline. (Liverpool Echo)

and i am not denying any of that but seem to be running into an attitude that whats past is past and we should continue on regardless now the football is back on.. lets not discuss that, lets not go there and more than that lets put words in mito's mouth or call him sarky, grumpy and a **** etc etc.

Well yes because its 2 windows ago MITO!!!!

If it was all unfolding now then yeah lets moan about it loads but this summers business has been 'decent' hasn't it? Looks to me like lessons are being learnt as we got everyone we were after and early too.

    I sincerely hope so.

let me ask you this; did you get my point about paying for the sins of the past? That perhaps we are integrating only now lovern for example into our first 11 and now we are integrating benteke in when we could have already another striker integrated since last summer (and no i am not having a go at benteke. i like benteke before i am attacked on that too)

the mistakes we've made have hurt us going forward, these are still hurting us.

of course you can only fix them now and try to improve but you are asking the guys who made the errors to fix the errors.

I'd not mind but i was the one pointing out how its not 5 years yet that G&H nearly bankrupted us and have done so on numerous occasions... I've sung FSG's praises on here.. sung them..

I've never called you a **** (it's a word I dislike intensely), or grumpy (though I'm getting there).
If I offended you by calling you sarky, then I apologise. When someone says you're a "wise head" on a football forum where banter and name-calling are rife then you do tend to question their sincerity. :)

Perhaps it's just the differences between people, but I want to enjoy my football and support my team. That doesn't mean I'm blind to its faults at all- just that I don't see the point in harping on about them and performing an autopsy on every decision.

I haven't read through the lot so not sure if you are referring to someone else but i'm certainly not attacking anyone!

I completely agree that there has been some severe **** ups in who we have brought in and we are not out of the woods yet and are still paying for them yes! I would just rather try and look forward now as FSG have backed the committee and BR and we are going again - and it seems to have gone a lot better with a couple of shrewd moves.

Our squad looks quite healthy, looking at your post on the EL thread and our complete second string is an actual team in correct positions etc. Future COULD be bright.

I actually think it's a powerfully expressive word, but only with a northern accent - none of this 'cant' bollocks <ok>

I don't know what word you're on about because I haven't read back but if you put the swear filter on every time you see the t**** /s**** ... whatever, you can make up your own word as a replacement for it or completely miss it out like I do.

Did you ever play sausage and mash as a kid where you read from a book or a comic and every word beginning with 's' you say sausage and 'm' you say mash - it was hilarious ......... well as a primary school child it was <laugh>

I thought that was how you northerners pronounce the word? Not heard anyone down south say it like that
