Raheem Sterling is on the verge of completing his move to Manchester City after being pulled out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour. Liverpool are now in advanced negotiations with City as the clubs edge closer to a £50 million deal, prompting the decision to omit Sterling from the travelling squad heading to the Far East and Australia. • Sterling row could see PFA intervene He was due to board a plane heading to Bangkok this afternoon having initially been named in the travelling group, but significant progress has been made in the conversations between City and Liverpool. It now appears to be a question of when rather than if Sterling completes his move to The Etihad Stadium, bringing an increasingly acrimonious dispute between player and club to an end. Two City bids amounting to £40 million were rejected by the Merseyside club earlier this month, but the latest talks have been establishing how to get nearer to the £50 million figure Liverpool have been demanding all this summer. While those close to Sterling are suggesting City have bid £45 million, it is understood the dialogue is still ongoing regarding the fee. Liverpool still hope to achieve an additional £5 million in add-ons, although the terms would have to be significantly different from earlier proposals which were heavily dependant on Sterling winning silverware in Manchester. What is clear is the clubs are no longer so far apart in their valuations. Sterling informed Liverpool last week he had no wish to travel on their tour, informing manager Brendan Rodgers after his first day of pre-season training. He was then absent for two days citing illness before returning to Melwood on Friday, where he was informed he’d be subject to disciplinary action if he refused to join the squad on tour. please log in to view this image Raheem Sterling returned to Liverpool training on Friday With City opening a fresh dialogue, Sterling’s wish to leave Anfield is now closer to being realised. .global__group{zoom:1}.global__group:after,.global__group:before{content:'';display:table}.global__group:after{clear:both}.float--left{display:-moz-inline-stack;display:inline-block;vertical-align:top;zoom:1}.timeline__container.is__mobile{padding-left:4.687%;padding-right:4.687%}.timeline__title{margin-bottom:20px}.timeline__title__headline{font-family:Georgia,serif;font-size:24px;line-height:28px;color:#CC0000;margin-bottom:15px}.timeline__title__subtitle{-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;font-family:'Telesans Text Web';font-size:15px;line-height:21px;color:#565656}.timeline__main{-webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;font-family:'Telesans Text Web';position:relative;color:#565656;font-size:15px;line-height:21px}.timeline__element{background-color:#F4F4F0;padding:15px 20px 20px 35px}.timeline__element+.timeline__element{margin-top:3px}.timeline__element__leftCont{margin-right:10px;width:13px;height:15px}.timeline__element__bar{height:100%;width:1px;background-color:#777}.timeline__element__title{position:relative;margin-bottom:10px}.timeline__element__title:after{width:13px;height:13px;background-image:url(http://s.telegraph.co.uk/graphics/T...-width:620px}.timeline__element__media__image image{display:block}.video--container{position:relative;width:100%;max-width:620px;margin-bottom:5px}.video--player{padding-bottom:56.27%}.video--player .innerWrapper{width:auto!important;height:auto!important;position:absolute!important;top:0;right:0;left:0;bottom:0}.timeline__element__media__caption{font-size:13px;color:#777;margin-bottom:20px}.timeline__element__text+.timeline__element__title{margin-top:25px}.timeline__bar{position:absolute;top:0;left:16px;height:100%;width:1px}.timeline__bar__fill{position:absolute;height:auto;bottom:0;top:0;left:0;right:0;margin-top:20px;margin-right:0;margin-left:0;background-color:#777;width:100%}.video--container__ooyala--padding{width:100%;padding-bottom:56.25%;position:relative}.video- -container__ooyala{position:absolute;top:0;bottom:0;left:0;right:0} How the Raheem Sterling row unfold http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ove-after-pulling-out-of-pre-season-tour.html
Aren't the others all a few years older than Schweinsteiger or is that too obvious a comment for Not606's version of John Aldridge to comprehend?
Gerrard 35 goes to the US Lampard 37 goes to the US Pirlo 36 goes to the US Sweinsteiger 30 goes to UTD I'm guessing the age thing is what you are getting at right?? 30 the same age as the best player in the world Ronaldo Don't worry you got 29yo Milner
They are, but it's also safe to say the other 3 simply cant perform in the Prem so have had to take the fancy League 2 clubs instead. Tbf Gerrard couldnt perform in the prem at 30 so it isnt all about age
BALO-GOMEZ SWAP Liverpool and Fiorentina are considering an intriguing swap deal involving respective strikers Mario Balotelli and Mario Gomez, claim Italian media outlet Mediaset.
he any good? dont trust anything that comes from italy (player wise lol) no more, normally no good, but then he cant be any worst than ballo can he.
Very rare these swap desls materialise. In fact when was the last big swap deal that went through. I really can't remember
Only ones I can think of recently is David Luiz to Chelsea with Matic going other way & Cuadrado to Chelsea with Salah going other way on loan. Neither really worked out well (so far in Cuadrado's case)
Haven't seen him play that much if I'm honest. Scored 25 goals in 60 apps for Germany, 63 in 121 for Stuttgart, 75 in 115 for Bayern and 7 in 29 for Fiorentina. He's also 30 years old.
He is the Chuck Norris of midfielders. He wont need to perform, he will simply kill the opposition with his stare.
