Need 2 cf’s with amount of comps plus Isak has had a few injuries with thigh/groin so help manage minutes. Plus it seems like talk that Ekitike likes to drift wide left and cut in anyway so could always play him in that lw position in certain games.

a £70-£80m back up seems a tad excessive excessive to say the least .

pretty sure seen something similar a few years ago but and it's a big but he has to pay compo which i would guess is at least the cost of his remaining contract and i doubt any PL club would want to encourage usage of this reg for obvious reasons.

It's the only reason we are interested.

We are waiting to see what they are short of and try and offer a doak or morton in exchange.

There's a lot of waiting and seeing being done with the likes of doak and morton which screams bargain bucket offers at the end of window.

I'd rather we induce something out of a club in a feal like guehi than see **** offers come in late.

    No its not realistic.

It'd end in court imo anyway cos of the sums involved and no player is willing to buy out a contract.

Isak signed a seal after not being brilliant at dortmund. He then was hawked Europe by his agent after decent showing at real sociadad and nobody was willing to take the 55mil risk but Newcastle.

He didn't want a release clause then and was quite happy with 6 years at 120k a week.

I've no sympathy at all for him.

Same as ekiteke. He didn't care what shirt he got in England.

If it's in the Laws of Football what grounds would the club have for taking it to court ?

    Wouldn’t be back up.

was gakpo or Diaz back up last season? Squad game, everyone moaned last year when slot didn’t have the personnel to rotate and now we’re getting 2 players it’s all negative.

Isak is the best all round 9 in the league, if opportunity is there take it. Ekitike is obviously one been following few years and is versatile enough to play multiple either as a 9 or lw. Or even in some games in that 10 role.

we saw last year slot wasn’t afraid to go proper 4-2-4 with gakpo diaz Jota Salah on the pitch. No reason couldn’t do similar with Isak and Ekitike

    All about squad options.

The fact that this is a possible a thing (take their word for it) and no one has ever done in would suggest that it’s 1, not so simple and 2, not something anyone is wanting to risk doing.

How many times a season do you think we’ll play a first choice 11 out of interest?

and like I said in my posts, he can play LW, he can pkay 10, he can play alongside Isak in a 4-2-4.

It was actually the problem that our first 11 played so often last year…..I’d happily take a much stronger squad but personally, I’d prefer Diaz in it. Isak and Ekitike simply replace Nunez and Jota. Assuming Chiesa goes, we still need forwards……and we badly need a CB.

it’s the biggest rebuild that I can recall and not without significant risk.

    For fun and games.

You only need to delay it to ruin a players career.

In the end its a contract. If the ground to break the contract are unclear you can certainly take it to court.

    This wouldn't be mutu etc.

Isak would need to follow the grounds to break the contract to the letter.
