Media seem in overdrive with isak.

The question is who is talking to them?

They seem quite cock sure of themsevles that he wants lfc only and blah blah blah.

If isak's agent and camp are at this stuff then we are not seeing someone we really should be thst happy with.

If Newcastle are leaking all this to smear the plauerbthen they are a bit thick.

I have to say I was expecting Newcastle ownership to accelerate the doping of revenue more than tjry have so it does look like they bought a club then pivoted to their own league in saudi with events in Saudi thier real focus.

Not giving isak the contract he wanted and retaining howe just looks small time to me.

Maybe not happy but he i’m accepting that this type of stuff happens. It’s not as though we’re encouraging him to run his contract down and leave on a free, is it? That would bean insidious act <whistle>

Think they’re realising how expensive really competing in England is and obviously have much more free rein in their own country - especially owning all 4 top clubs. Add in the way one of their clubs performed in the club World Cup and would explain why focus is probably more on their league than Newcastle. Get far more long term benefit if they improve their own league than from Newcastle.

It does seem they've made some decisions somewhere to not act like.city.

The fact that isak is kicking up such a stink does seem to indicate theres no secret stash of cash he's got unlike pep.amd tje rest.

Stupid as **** to sell quansah. Absolutely stupid as ****

I hope it at least secured wirtz as a nod nod wi k wink type move but **** me

Stupid as ****
There's always a reason...
I would assume it was part of the deal to get Wirtz.

Clubs don't do player swaps anymore because of PSR and FFP. I imagine if it were the olden days of 10 years ago, Quansah would have been part of the deal and the fee would have been lower

It's the only logic I can see.

It would be insane otherwise.

But its done so if they have 120 to 150mil really for Mr isak who is not now needed then they should be solving this issue.

If konate does what he is likely to do (no not join real, i mean get injured) then we are staring down the barrell of 10 games in the league with no cb partner for van dijk.

We cannot be talking this after 20/21. The lesson is stark.

Gomez recent injury record is poor. We are exposed in the CB area now but we have to sign another CB, not to do so would be very risky

Since Slot played Quansah at RB a few times last season, maybe it was part of the deal to get Frimpong <whistle>
