I asked ChatGPT and it said both "do" and "does" are correct in both British and American English, however, it suggested "do" is the more common way in Britain and "does" is the more common way in America.

I've always thought of "do" as British and "does" as American.

Liverpool are champions.
Led Zeppelin were a rock band.
Jaguar are releasing a new car.

German treats them as singular.

Contract is until 2027.

This is lwverkusens last summer to really demand these fees and possibly our only chance to compete.

The power will flip to the player next year amd he can simply focus on the world cup as his ship window.

They want 20 mil more euros or pkayers or whatever.

I agree. I actually use whichever sounds better in the particular sentence in which it's being used, your example being one.

Liverpool is the best football club in the world.
