Saudi football even before the recent expansion wasn't as bad as some make out . Evidence for this is Saudi clubs had won their equivalent of CL more than any other country in their confederation

I'm sure it's "fine" but we have no reference to say what level as the trams don't play each other.

Maybe a saudi side will meet a European side in this fifa thing and we will see.

Wouldn't someone feel better about themselves playing out their career in the PL rather than winning promotion from L2 for instance? Holding your own at a high level is a better demonstration of your quality than being a big fish in a small pond.
I do think that a player should want to play, and if you can't quite make it at the top then a step down is a reasonable move, but for the moment at least, the Saudi League is quite a long way down.

He’s made 4 starts for Villa in the league. He’s not playing.

Don’t remember seeing any other bids for him though so it’s go and play football or sit on bench for next 6 months

Needs a better agent then.
Or just maybe his agent is happy with his cut of an over-inflated fee.
I still think this is solely about money, not football ambition, and no amount of sophistry will convince me otherwise.
