Of course it will - but for me personally, I don't see the point in worrying about it unless and until it happens. We know we're unlikely to hear anything until it's done, either way, so I'll wait until then.
We have no choice, we have to wait, so if we fret and complain now and it turns out ok, then it's just wasted energy. If it is a disaster then we can moan. And I'll probably join in.

Then replace salah. The following year

Then finally replace vvd if you can.

That's my 3 year view if you want it.

Tweak defence and strengthen attack this summer.
Replace salah next year
Finally replace vvd in summer 3 which is hard enough.

We are looking at 3 of the back 4 gone with robbo age issues and konate contract running down. It's mad.

We are looking at a forward line without 2/3rds of goals and assists with one guy gone and three others we can't reply on.

Let's at least try build over time and buy ourselves that time

Why? Do it for 3/4 years. Still okay be mid 20s and come back to Europe. Will also play for this team rather than sit on the bench at Villa.

Doesn't matter where he plays, he's get well paid anyway.

Different types of people in the world though isn't there? Those that think money is everything and those that choose life.

Have you ever thought that some players actually want to win something in their carreer and not spend it finnishing in the top 4 of some league or other?
I have no problem with a player who decides to move to another league in order to make his time worthwhile and feel he has helped achieve something.

Don't you think that finishing in the top four of a top league is more of an achievement than winning a sub-standard one?
Wouldn't someone feel better about themselves playing out their career in the PL rather than winning promotion from L2 for instance? Holding your own at a high level is a better demonstration of your quality than being a big fish in a small pond.
I do think that a player should want to play, and if you can't quite make it at the top then a step down is a reasonable move, but for the moment at least, the Saudi League is quite a long way down.

In your opinion, some players (quite a few actually) will bve happy to earn much more money whilst having a chance to end up with medals/cups than spend their whole career on less money and getting a pat on the back for getting into the top 4.

Well, if they kid themselves that a medal from a third-rate league is just as worthwhile then ok.
If our teams (yours and mine) only ever won the LC and ended outside the European places, would we tell ourselves that we were doing really well? It's good to win it if you're in it, but we all consider it a second-level achievement, even though we're still competing against top teams.
If you're playing in a league comprised mostly of "lesser" players and old greats grabbing one last big payday can you honestly tell yourself you're fulfilling your potential?
It's pretty obvious it's all about the money, and perhaps some players are happy just to kick a ball about and rake it in, whereas some others want to believe they've consistently shown their quality against the best.
Good luck to him and others like him, but nobody will be telling their kids about him in the future if he continues there.

Well, that's pretty much what I was getting at when I refer to footballing ambition <doh>

Going to Saudi to win though is like winning the local Sunday league [HASHTAG]#pointless[/HASHTAG] I'd rate the Scottish PL higher
