3 transfers windows until that RB leaves on a free.

Bold to say LB is on decline after 1 game.

Quansah VVD Konate. Yea we need 1 more if Gomez goes but we still have 3 cb’s for 2 spots if one gets injured. Plus vd berg if he stays

Eh if you cant see Robertson decline then there's this company called specsavers you might want to visit <ok>

As I said, van den berg is very average and Phillips is too. That's the options here if we.buy nothing.

Against cbs get suspended. They get injured.

Klopp went with 3 and ended up with none

It's a very long time to January when the window closes.

Not many other top 4 sides will go with 3 cbs

Juat cos he’s on the decline doesn’t mean needs replacing. Yes not the same as 5 years ago but still more than good enough and better than most full backs in the league.

We haven’t got 3 cbs? You’re making up scenarios that haven’t happened.

    We currently have
vvd Quansah Konate Gomez vd berg Phillips - heck even throw in Williams if you want.

You’re talking like we have 3 senior players at the club. If we sell Gomez and vd berg and are left as Phillips as only other defensive cover then yeah that’s a mess. But we aren’t in that scenario. So not sure why getting so worked up over it

    Jesus wept.

    Keep
    Up.

Nightmare scenario..... van den berg is long since advertised as going. Phillips should be gone 2 years now. Gomez is going. That leaves how many?

    You'd swear I didn't say nightmare scenario

There's no way you won't buy IF your key targets are available. I suspect there will a lot of deals done in the final week of the window that will lead to your managers targets becoming available.

Your transfers, in and out have been pretty successful over the past 6-7 years. Can't see that changing this window

    Ok nightmare scenario

Vvd Alison TAA are involved in a training ground busy up and all break each others legs.

Salah goes on strike because someone offered him a pint of beer and Mac Konate Quansah szobo and Jota are all suspended after doing royal rumble style fight 10 mins into the game v Brentford.

What do we do then? We’re screwed and fsg all to blame for selling Gomez.

    Sure. Whatever.

How many injuries did we have last season 8 to 10 for most of the second half of season

What the average number of senior players clubs have injured at one time. 5

    Just average.

I think you might be taking this promise a little too literally.

Good deal for both if he gets his head down.

Just worry that rbs will sell to rbl so the group break the clause17.5% of sell on is our safety net.

Another day and othe youth told he's for sale.

Harvey Blair is next. No issue with this, he's another forgotten man at this point and needs to just get on with making a career. Injuries scuppered all progress.

Whatever people's opinions are of who we sell, I'm not sure how it improves us and that should always be the main focus. Unless the crescendo (or even one signing) happens, we're facing a season in a weaker position than we were last season and that can't be a good strategy.

So why do you think we're doing it - do you think the people in charge are totally inept?

I couldn't possibly know why we're doing it. None of us knows what's going on behind the scenes, (other than Slot saying Zubimendi turned us down) so the intention to strengthen is there. I just don't see how, unless and until we do make a signing, we are putting ourselves in a better position which should be the aim.

I'm always relaxed on who and how many we sign. With Klopp we trusted that he knew what he was doing because the results were testament to him knowing what he was doing. I think he could have strengthened us more when we were in a position of strength having won all major trophies but we'll never know why we didn't bring in more quality players at that time.

We don't know who Slot is yet and presuming that he (and Hughes et.al) knows exactly what he's doing and that it's the right way to go is just the other side of the blind faith/cynicism coin. Getting behind the new manager and supporting him doesn't mean you can't also question him.

You know I had my reservations about Slot but I sure as heck don't want him to fall and neither am I sitting around waiting to dislike something he's done or said. His interviews have been impressive and I will acknowledge that and give credit where it is due. I will also point out my concerns. That's what the forum is for isn't it.
