Makes sense tbh. I know Fab was a number 6 but he was more than that. He was also very good on the ball and Gini and Hendo made just as many tackles through their pressing. If can get 3 energetic midfielders who can interchange and all press twckle keep the ball then have more control over that midfield and less likely to be countered on.
Tell you what, after tonight we'd be insane to pay £58m for Decoure, let alone the £70m they want. Maybe he means that much to them, and I respect that. But since we senselessly waived a £111m wad over the roulette table (and were ****ing fortunate the croupier said it was too late to take the bet) we're best off coming back to this casino in January. Caicedo is really decent despite the debut yesterday, but £50m at best no matter how desperate we are. And Decoure is £25m. £30m at most. yes, I'm the biggest whingebag on this site, I know, always urging John Henry to put his hand in his pocket and all that, and we may regret not paying that £50m for Lavia (but at 19, that's one hell of a risk), but Macca, Szlobbo and, maybe, Endo may have to do, preferably with another CB. That will do for now.
