Just a shout out to Milner. Brilliant player for us for 8 years! Didn’t seem that long but was with us longer than any other clubs.

Helped bring s winning attitude and great with everyone at the club to help set standards. As with all players age caught up a bit and just looked off the boil when he did play at times the last couple years but can’t fault what he’s done for us.

Wont go down as an lfc legend but should be a very important cog in a very successful machine.

In sure he’ll get a brilliant reception when he arrived at Anfield next season.

Did he really bring a winning attitude? ...

Did he really bring a winning attitude? ...

According to everyone at the club and the stats that say he helped us win every trophy possible in his 7 years compared to 2 trophies in the previous 10 years.

But you’re right, maybe klopp and all the players who have nothing but good to say about him are wrong and he was pure lucky to be in a world class team and he was a passenger.

He joined in 2015 And helped us win first league title in 30 years. 1 European cup. 1 club World Cup. 1 fa cup. 1 league cup. 1 uefa super cup. 1 community shield. Before he joined we had 1 league cup and community shield since 2005…

Believe (may be mistaken) that he was the only player who had won a league title before when we won ours as well.

City didn’t want to lose him.

Klopp sounds like didn’t want to lose him.

But yeah, guy is a serial loser and brought the club down. Better off if he never joined

It's interesting that he didn't really raise any standards when he joined because we were still sh*t. I suppose the winning attitude coincides when we actually signed quality players who raised the standard on the pitch. It's funny how the same players struggled last year and Milner's 'winning' attitude didn't have much of any impact ...

Klopp didn't want to lose Bobby or Mane, or any other player. He's very loyal. To his detriment. And if City really wanted him, they would have kept him.

No doubt he was a fantastic professional.

it's Aberdeen so it will be small. if rangers came in it'd be 5. Aberdeen just cannot afford that.

for me the lad is a classic lfc youth. no physical ability not quick but can pass all day.

we simply don't produce "local" talent with the combination of talent and athleticism.

morton is another example. he's growing up a little but still a twig and he is a bit slow. he's good enough in terms of ability on the ball but the rest isn't there.
Quansah, Mabaya and Stewart all look okay.

So it’s Milners fault that Salah/TAA/vvd were all poor last year?

It’s interesting that despite all these quality players that were signed, Milner still played more than most of them throughout the last 7 years.

You don’t like him. You don’t think team morale, professionalism, inspiration off the pitch is a thing in football. It’s all data driven and personality doesn’t go into making a successful team.

However the guy was a mainstay in the team over the last 7 years which coincided with our best trophy haul and football played so what ever impact he did didn’t have, he’ll go down as a far greater lfc player than Keita or coutinho etc

Wouldn't say he was a mainstay .. he was a squad player. And I agree that he made more of an impact than Keith and Coutinho.

Our best players were poor last year and guess what ... the team suffered. So for all the talk that Milner (and Hendo) are these great leaders who would never let standards slip is just nonsense. You want to give the so called leaders the credit for our success but then say nothing when the chips were down...

Anyways, you should be happy because it looks like Thuram is close. Please be happy.

Stewart is not a great athlete imo, he's also not a great talent.

quansah is a cb not a midfield but has been at the club since age 5.

mabaya is from Preston and has been coming to the club since age 6 to train. he's also a winger not a cm. reminds me of amoo honestly.

if we look through the longer list of lads like Clarkson, morton, Woodburn etc there's a common theme of lads who can pass long and short all day every day but are just not athletic.

Ah my mistake, I wasn't focussing on midfielders. You're right to an extent that we don't have any homegrown units in the academy in any position other than goalkeepers actually. Koumetio fits the bill but he's French and while he looked really promising, hasn't kicked on. I can't think of any big, strong, athletic academy players in general for any team?

that is 100% the absolute limit of his value.

Its actually not where i would start but where i'd end or walk away from.

(i'd start at 25)

the madness at cheslea looking for 70 for a player like mount they are casting aside, 70 for havertz who has been absolutely shattered by their fans and has zero confidence left, there are player after player they seem to think there will be a queue to pay whatever is asked is shocking.

I fully expect a fire sale within the next 2 weeks. Reality will set in that they will be under ffp charges for the years madness and they will try to do something. probably again cheating somewhow with collusion for utd to make up a swap or some such. (ignoring how juve got done for this)

Chelsea don't need the money and don't give a **** about ffs

Wasting your time mate, he's hated him since day one. He loved Moreno though <doh>

There's two ways to break FFP.

1) Be sneaky about it. Do things like be your own shirt and stadium sponsor. Have affiliated companies pay your wages for you. The City/PSG model.

Then there is

2) Be completely open about how much youre spending and when you get called out on it just make up some excuse why you're special and deserve to break the rules...

Chelsea and Everton are both number twos. Ironically, they're both **** too.

The Boris Johnson excuse. I hadn't thought of that. Something else to blame him for.
