depends how badly we need the money to build though, doesn’t it? If we need the cash badly for a big signing in midfield, then the negotiation is not all one way.
If selling him enables us to build at a greater speed than not selling him...

Tbh, I'm feeling in a distinct minority actually giving a **** about that.hmm. I think the fee is double that to them
but then doing any business with them is apparently legitimising their regime.

It's not about the money...oil money is dripping through football regardless of Newcastle tbh….I’d love for our league to take a stance but it’s way too late isnt it?
It's not about the money...
we still have the power via the contract.
newcastle have to break their transfer record.
like... if newcastle think Tierney and Jota are the answer the longer they keep that stupidity up the better.

Me too, but human rights transcend football rivalries - surely?I think that's because most on here would prefer to see Newcastle win over Man City, Man Utd or Chelsea.

My issue is not with Newcastle as a club, and certainly not with its supporters - nor it is with the Arab people, they make up the majority of the victims. It's the current regime that is the problem, and although we can't do much to effect change, we can refrain from legitimising it by allowing them to own our institutions.
Anyway, we've been over this a lot in the past year or so, and I don't really want to get dragged into it again.
I'd prefer we sold Salah but I don't see anyone coughing up that sort of money for the transfer fee or wages.
China has pretty much given up on footy so thats a no and can't remember hearing of any big transfer fees paid by the Saudis .Maybe China or Saudis.

If we got £40 mil for Salah, that and the next three years wages is £100mil freed up.
Saudis didn't pay a big transfer fee but paying insane silly money to Ronaldo and Salah is still much better than Ronaldo. He also has the advantage of being a Muslim star.

Never been a fan of Jota, couldn't give a toss if he left.
No it's [HASHTAG]#religionism[/HASHTAG].
Ronaldo they had to make all sorts of allowances for (such as agree to turn their heads and ignore the fact he lives with an unmarried woman and has a child with her).

Aren't they both just known as Ronaldo?Ronaldo never played in Saudi Arabia mate. C.Ronaldo does now though
