JAY SPEARING IS BACK please log in to view this image Jay Spearing has been confirmed to have taken up a dual role, coaching the U18s and possibly playing for the U21s – so the club have delivered a midfielder…
fab and Hendo are both 6 foot plus. Keita and Elliott are tiny though so yeah, another 6 footer required I reckon….
Perhaps we could get Spearing to play there? I read that he's still only 33, but I wasn't sure if that was his age or his height in inches.
Was bit surprised we got another forward given Diaz was meant to be a summer signing so intrigued if Nunez was always a summer target or if it came about given circumstances and were worried about losing both Salah and mane? Think we all know maybe midfield is lacking but it really depends how well Jones Elliott and Carvalho do. If they all perform then we have those 3 plus thisgo fab Hendo and Keita. That’s a strong midfield potential there. Overall I don’t think can complain. If we can move on a couple fringe players like ox, Williams, Phillips, then very good window and sets us up nicely for the season. All the players in early and should get a full pre season under their belt
Nunez will have been watched for a long time but who knows what's activated the move now. The mane stuff.must be crystal clear for some time. It's really up to Jones to have that moment of realisation about what he needs to do. He's very inconsistent in terms of delivery and is inclined to hog the ball when he's trying too hard.
Jones could evolve into a better player, he once shower promise, but I don't count on it. One things for sure, if we don't sign anyone for midfield this summer then Jones is going to have the opportunity to try and assert himself. This might be a critical season for him. Establish himself now, or not at all.
Diaz was Mane’s replacement and boy, he lit up the place. Nunez is Bobby’s replacement…..one more to go…. will be interesting to see who lines up in midfield at the start of the season; where will Elliott, Carvalho figure….
Firmino dropping deeper could give us another option. As a false 9 he does that anyway but beforehand that took someone out of the front 3. He's an intelligent player, a battler, and he's knows how to pull off a sneaky foul or two.
Lucas was good at the sneaky fouls too - making it look like a slightly mistimed tackle, though he knew exactly what he was doing. Look a bit clumsy and you can get away with loads. Milner, on the other hand, just buries people and still somehow gets away with it most of the time.
First name basis with all the refs innit. Godsons and such. Probably was at all their baptisms or delivered them or knew their grand parents.
Knew their grandparents? There are a lot of unfair jokes about Milners age. Milner in actuality is the Ancient Pagan God of Hard Running and Awful Tackles and the patron deity of Ribena.
Yves Basouma leaving Brighton for Spurs? He was one linked to us and is decent, Bellingham is younger but next Summer is a long way off
