you’re not wrong - someone will have a hissy fit at some point but while Levy can keep him happy, they’ll be decent. <ok>

It's just piling on the same itk stuff. Assuming it's good time to make the big splash as nobody will remember in 3 weeks time. Massive clicks today on it I assume.

In the end we will struggle to get rid of ox so I suppose the assumption now is the midfield will be what it is.

    Fabinho and no cover
    Elliott henderson keita on right
Thaigo and Jones and milner on left

It's not like we don't have the warm bodies bit I think we all know that unless someone steps up massively form the young lads we are going to struggle when the really big games come round.

I think Paul Joyce published an article this morning saying that the Mane deal is nearing completion as Bayern officials are travelling to Liverpool to conclude negotiations.

Hopefully we get the £40m we're after ...

Also, I think Ox goes to West Ham this summer for £10m. Would be a good deal because we will also be suing £150k a week in wages (which is huge for a player of his squad status!)

Assuing we aren’t paying % of Ox wages. He’ll struggle to get £150k anywhere else so depends if he’s happy having pay cut for regular football.

Real shame about him. He started to really show his worth a couple years ago and then since that horrible injury, just hasn’t hit those heights. There’s a play there, someone that picks up the ball and drives forward and has a shot on him. Hopefully can get some regular football

    40mil would be frankly miraculous.

You are right, get that for ox and move on. He is probably 4th choice at best at rcm and 3rd for rw.

    We need a new player.

Will hold my breath until the official Dribs confirmation.

Would be good if true though. Though I could imagine part of it being add-ons.

He was superb in the March/April of 2018, especially in CL games. He was our player of the tie against City in that QF. That injury against Roma put him out for 18 months, and let's not kid ourselves he's been the same player ever since. Just lost his zip and dynamism. He just runs into cul-de-sacs now, shoots when he shouldn't, overhits and under hits passes - he needs a couple of months in the team, but he's not going to get that at Liverpool to play himself back in.

That said, we could have used him at right-back a couple of times and chose Milner instead. He's just not going to get any more chances.

Hope it's not all in add-ons. Didn't their first offer include £5m if he won the Balon D'or? The Mane of three years ago, perhaps....

Milner just signed a new deal. He's not going anywhere for at least a decade. Ox and Jude in an equal swap should work though.

Most random news of the day:

Liverpool are close to re-signing Jay Spearing. He will play for the u23 side whilst working with the academy coaching younger age groups. [Chris Bascombe]

Shouldn't he just be a coach? Is there any point of him playing for the u23s? It's not like in his mid thirties he's suddenly going to improve and get a call up to the main squad and he'd be taking a spot that one of our kids could be using to improve and get big-match ready.

A lot of clubs are doing this these days.

Kind of a warning about how you.could end up if you don't take your chance.

LFC “very lucky” to land ‘attack-minded’ Calvin Ramsay, says Aberdeen boss

Calvin Ramsay is expected to be confirmed as Liverpool’s third senior signing of the summer, and his manager as Aberdeen has said the Reds are “very lucky” to land the teenager.
Liverpool are close to tying up a deal worth £6.5 million for the 18-year-old right-back, with a medical and the final details all that stand in a way of an official announcement.

So the noise out of Anfield is that our business coming in is done for the summer. Bear in mind we also got Diaz early so all in all, not a bad 6 months of transfer business - now let’s see what we can get for some of the bit part players….
