Perhaps, but it would make Greez happy and we'd finally stop hearing him beg to get him... So it's in our best interest he comes.
He eventually forgot about neymadge. I imagine he will forget hmmbop fairly quick and move onto the next one
vvd TAA firmino all signed new deals this year so if they thought they were worth more should have mentioned at the time. They don’t seem the type to then push further issues tbh. Mane contract is also up at same time as Salah
Thing is 30 now isn’t the same as 30 in the 90s. He’s Muslim so I’d imagine he doesn’t touch alcohol, probably eats brilliant and looks in fantastic shape. Guys got better as the years gone on so no reason he can’t perform for next 4 years. think I heard he has missed 7 prem games since joining us his game will probably have to change. He might not always be a wide player, maybe will drift inside more, but being an left footer on the right doesn’t always use pure pace as it’s his little movements in that get him the space. Look at Ronaldo, scoring goals at 36 and in as good shape now as has been.
True, Ronaldo knees were going so he's slowed up but he has preserved himself. Salah can but there will probably be a cliff somewhere
Read an article on either Sky or BBC this morning (can't remember which) that attributed Salah with saying "when a club sets a high value for a player then the contract should reflect this". Sounds fair to me really.
Said this weeks ago when we last had this discussion. It's all very well saying he's so good just give him what he wants, but FSG will be wary of the domino effect and that's why I think a deal is far from certain.
Just coz Salah gets a big contract it doesn't mean all the rest should follow suit such as Mane. The only players I would be happy to be treated on par with Salah would be VVD and possibly Fabinho.
if you think on this stuff guys, every week we delay before this contract is signed is about 200k saved theres what 35 weeks to when it ought to be signed. that 7million quid salah aint getting. no wonder he is in the media and no wonder the club are dragging thier heels. LOL. this wont be done til summer and then it'll be hurry up and sign or be sold lol
I happy to let Salah go He is due an injury - and I don’t like the way these things go anyway Think we discussed this a while ago My op hasn’t changed If PSG want him and are willing to pay I would let him go I would not want Mbappe just hope this doesn’t get scruffy in the media
He's the best player in the world. I'm not saying we give Messi / Ronaldo levels of wages but he should be paid handsomely to reflect it. If not, it sends a message that we can only keep hold of players until they grow too big for the club. Which is something we have been used to for a long time but was hoping it would be different now.
You don't think others will start to demand more? It's not about what the club gives them, it's about what they want and what it does to their attitude if they're in a constant battle over wages. It can cause tension and unrest within the group and it's the complete antithesis of Klopp's dressing-room philosophy. Of course that might not happen, but if it does then the repercussions are much more far-reaching than retaining the services of one player for the next few years, no matter how good he is. It's a gamble either way, it's not a straightforward decision by any means, imo.
I think the only other person in the squad who could command anywhere near what Mo wants is VVD. We are paying some great wages to our top performers but there has to be another tier for the God Like players. Mo and VVD are in that tier.
t This is the thing. In a world 11 Mo VVd and Maybe Alisson are the 3 that get in. The rest albeit very very good players aren’t on the same level as those 3
