No forward in that academy is currently even close to it. Midfield already has seen clarkson sent on loan.
Woodburn has also gone on loan to hearts as signalled last week. That just about leaves just karius, Phillip's, maybe williams and origi for the chop. I reckon we might to hold Williams till january but will sell Phillip's is anyone finally stumps up. Karius will be found any sort of old loan and got out of the camp Origi will be around forever it seems just to torment everton and Barcelona.
Is this the final year of Karius' contract? Seems to go on forever. I think Philips and Origi both fall into the camp of we'll sell if a bid comes in, but hold if not. Williams I think we would more be looking at a loan. (Do you nean Rhys or Neco?)
Yes it is. Last year and then he is on his own in the big bad world. I mean Rhys. As you say if we sell Phillips we keep Williams till january to see how the 4 hold up. If we cant sell phillips then Williams needs to go on a decent loan. It really is just the odds and ends at this point. Everyone else has a half chance of a game from time to time.
There might be some chance of game time for Rhys and Phillips if we pick up a couple of injuries, which we almost certainly will at some point, but yeah, Rhys would probably be better served with a loan for his development and Phillips will need to leave if he wants to play regularly.
So is it only Origi to find a buyer for? Not that bad a window for losing dead wood. There’s space in the squad, Klopp has done a good job playing down any need for signings, so we don’t look desperate…..so I still hold out hope that we’ll sign someone before the window closes.

Be interesting to see how much minamino plays and where this season. Was decent in pre season (I know it’s only pre season) and klopp name checked him after the game talking about having options and difficult to leave him out etc. I’m not entirely sure where he plays best. Prob that false 9 position as dont think has the pace out wide unless klopp sees him as a bit of a midfielder?
He played LW in the game v villa and in most of preseason. When he wasn't falling over the ball or failing to get near anyone in the press he did finish quite well. Compared to joata and firmino he is nowhere for a false 9. He is ahead of origi for LW thats about it. He is clearly behind firmino and the 5th option so even to geton as a sub requires us to not rest a midfielder.
Surprised we let Shaqa go without Klopp trying him at centre-back. I mean he played him everywhere else but the front three/ no 10 in most of the time he was here.
They tried him in training - and he was so good they were embarrassed at how much money they'd forked out unnecessarily for Virgil. So he had to go.
