Thought most of the pens were quality last night. Doesn’t matter if you tell the keeper where it’s going if you smash them in top corner.

Were a couple that keepers got close, lloris should have saved one but for his weak hands.

i agree with all of that for sure.

pen shoot outs are no place for weak hits.

Looks like he’s going for a 3-5-2 set up. We will lose. If he does this, you just know that the full backs will sit deep, together with Two defensively minded midfielders - best we could hope for is 0-0. Up front he will stick with Kane, Sterling and probably Foden so not really packed with Pace. In short - he’s setting us up to keep them out. <doh>

Completely agree. When teaching my eldest how to take a penalty (I never missed a penalty in my playing days), I've told him to pick a side and make sure you hit the side netting, do this (high or low) and the keeper won't save it. Obviously you need to believe in yourself too, 100% confidence that you will score.

I never missed one either.
This achievement was aided by the fact that I never took one.

I did take a fair amount but got over looked a lot too (I'd never argue to take one just unnecessary pressure), been involved in a few shootouts too.

We used to have a shootout in pre-season every year to determine who the best takers were, I was always there at the end (either won or declared a draw because we went missing) but never got made the main taker for whatever reason.

Never missed at five-a-side either until they introduced the hockey goals rather than the old short & wide type goals. You can't place it in hockey goal because the keeper can reach everywhere and therefore rely on reactions.

Just toe-ended them into the general direction of the side of the goal. Couple flew over, tbf. Those on target were past the keeper before he moved.

Would love a pro to toe end a pen
Hysterical

They can't in the slippers they wear nowadays. My old Gerd Muller Hat Tricks, or Adidas Sambas for five-a-side, were perfect for it. My nephew, who had a few games for Marine and now plays amateur in Oz, showed me his a few years back. No wonder they scream when someone stands on their feet.

Seriously though, I do remember a pub team we played on the Wirral, and their goalie reckoned I cheated by doing it as it went straight at him at 100mph, he dived under it and stuck his hand out, and it hit his fingers on the way in. His team mates were giving the soft **** down the banks!

Nowt wrong with a good toe-ender. :)
