I'm glad we have owners who don't throw money around like it's easily come by. These owners know how to run sports clubs and the evidence confirms that their approach not only works but works very well. I doubt they need to sell to buy. If they do it's out of choice not necessity.
Liverpool are expected to return with an improved offer for Jamal Lewis although the club have alternative options under consideration. (@AHunterGuardian)
Personally I'm very chilled about what's going on or not going on behind the scenes In terms of transfers. Klopps built this side over 5 years, during that time hes also trained a lot of those academy lads that have the chance to come through this season like Jones and Williams and Elliott so after not signing anyone of note last summer when a lot of us were panicking that we wouldn't use the cl win to push on and attract better players and being completely wrong I'll shut my mouth this time round and enjoy the surprises (if any) Klopp said soon after the prem lift that he would love "a team full of scousers". now I know he didn't meat that literally as such as that would be impossible but I do believe there's a message in that statement. Klopp took the team as far as he could and it was obvious we needed a cb and keeper. We got them for big money and look at us now. Klopp doesn't have that easy a problem this time around if he wants to add to this already brilliant team.
Thiago 'would prefer PSG move over Liverpool' Thiago Alcantara would prefer a move to PSG over Liverpool, it has been claimed. According to reports in Germany with Abendzeitung München, the Bayern Munich midfielder would like to move to Paris in order to play alongside the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. The Reds continue to be linked with a move with the 29-year-old, with Bayern thought to be willing accept an offer of £25m for his services. Liverpool have had a £10million bid for Jamal Lewis rejected by Norwich City.
I agree with all of that. There's no chance Klopp will be resting on his laurels. He likes a certain type of player and he's rarely been wrong - Karius, any others? We were heavily linked with Werner and it looked certain to go through but Klopp will walk away when extra demands are made as they were with both him and Fekir a while back. We have spent big when we needed to and look at the personalities of the two who we pushed the boat out for. From what I've just read about Lewis he seems to be a smart, likeable young man, the kind of person Klopp goes for but if he or Norwich try and squeeze this out too much, we'll walk away. Norwich might think the sale will be on their terms but it won't actually unless Klopp agrees in which case it's on the terms of both parties.
Ever since the early reports of Thiago, every insider and reporter close to the club have said we arent interested at all. Yet we are constantly linked. We arent even in for him and no chance we would spend that much on a relatively old player.
I think the attitude of the player has a massive effect on klopp. If during the prelims all the agent or player goes on about is money, then they are happy to move on. Of course a pkayer wants to be paid, but if it looks like his main motivation why is he then going to run his bollocks off for you, he's already got his paycheck.
I can only see it happen, if it was for a very low fee, although the lad is class, the transfer just doesn't fit in with the established pattern.
