Bayern Munich will demand between £54million and £72m from any side who wish to sign Thiago Alcantara this summer. Thiago’s future has been thrown into doubt amid reports Liverpool are lining up a surprise swoop for the midfielder. Bayern were closing in on agreeing terms with Thiago over a new long-term contract, but the Spaniard has now decided to field offers from other clubs. The 29-year-old has come to the realisation this may be the final time in his career he will be able to join a top Champions League club in Spain or in the Premier League. Far too much money for a 29year old post COVID

This time I'd say we were never in for him.

FSG have made it clear that value for money is key to buying players. There is no way they'd agree to buy a 29yr old player for the kind of money Napoli want

tbf to Man City, not sure they'll go for him either, its an extremely expensive transfer for an 'older' player

He's class - but we need key players in other areas. Jo Go is the future, and Matip is still sound when not injured. Need a decentish fourth placed CB to replace Lovren, that's all.

Just saw an interview with KDB. He refused to comment on whether LFC winning the PL would give him extra motivation for next season. Clearly he's planning to leave if City's CL ban is upheld, and why wouldn't he?

Or maybe he thought it was an impossible question to answer...

Say yes and people will say he wasn't motivated (translated to bothered) enough this season.

Say no and people will say he's not bothered they've not won it.

He's already said he'll consider leaving

"Once the statement is made, I will review everything. Two years would be long, in the case of one year I might see."

And if he does leave, he'll leave for a lot of money which then helps Man City fulfil FFP rules.

Obviously leaves a big hole in their team too

He's their only player who would get into our team. We're [HASHTAG]#nailedon[/HASHTAG] for the title if he leaves.

Liverpool have reportedly moved ahead of Manchester City in the race for Napoli's Senegal centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly, 29, by offering Croatia defender Dejan Lovren, 30, as part of a transfer.

Because lovren will be some kind of replacement for Koulibaly <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Koulibaly would be a better fourth choice than Lovren.

I dont mind Lovren
Think he gets a lot of stick but i think his problem is he can have a reasonable game or two bit when he makes an error its usually high profile and fairly stupid and avoidable
He is not bad in fourth fifth choice
Kouli would be better but probably not for the money we would have to pay to get him. (I think Kouli is amazing btw)
As this report involves a swop I cant see it being true btw

Probs trying to push city to pay more to the tune of the value of lovren, that could be a laugh lol

Now, that the title is in the bag every player will be linked with Liverpool (good or bad). I am not angry that Lovren is being packaged for a swap move, but surprised that Danny Drinkwater is being linked to move to Anfield. Success have its own disadvantage and advantage too, suddenly every player wants to play for Liverpool.

Liverpool urged to make shock move for Leicester City hero
The Premier League title winner is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Chelsea

not quite what the article says. -

klopp should sign someone like drinkwater who maybe isn’t technically gifted that Man City wouldn’t look at but would fit into Liverpool well (like Hendo or gini)

not - Liverpool should sign drinkwater... which the headline seems to suggest

Liverpool are not interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly - but they may be in the market for another centre-back if Dejan Lovren leaves the club.
Several reports have suggested Koulibaly is top of Jurgen Klopp's wanted list, but it is understood Liverpool's strict transfer policy prohibits them spending more than £60m on a 29-year-old.
