Real Madrid want to sell SIX to fund Pogba or Eriksen deal

"Real Madrid take off," Marca's front page said on Wednesday. "With excess baggage."

The Real Madrid squad travelled to Canada on Tuesday to kick off their pre-season training as Zinedine Zidane continues to reshape his roster ahead of the new campaign. A new midfielder is wanted, while the future of six players remains unresolved.

Gareth Bale is one of those. Zidane wants the Welsh winger to be sold, but the player is in no hurry to leave andStandard Sportunderstands he will only consider a move to one of Europe's elite clubs.

That rules out a transfer to China, which was rumoured in the media on Tuesday, but offers from elsewhere are not forthcoming at this point.

Madrid had hoped to use the winger in a deal to bring in Paul Pogba from Manchester United, but the Red Devils have no plans to sell the France midfielder and, for the first time in a number of summers, they have no interest in Bale either as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bring in young British talent.

Bale, who is 30 this week, is under contract at Real Madrid until 2022 and the winger is happy to stay at the Spanish side – even after he was frozen out by Zidane following his return at the end of last season.

Madrid are looking to make around €200 million from player sales in the remainder of the window, with Bale, Isco, Mariano Diaz, James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez and Keylor Navas all available.

Without recouping close to or at least half that amount, Los Blancos are unlikely to be able to afford Pogba or Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen ahead of the 2019-20 season, having already spent in excess of €300m this summer on Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo and Eder Militao.

Real hope there will be at least one more new arrival this summer and Los Blancos will turn their attentions to Eriksen if a deal for Pogba proves impossible, but the World Cup winner is still priority for Zidane.

Los Blancos have raised close to €150m so far this summer with the sales of Mateo Kovacic (to Chelsea), Marcos Llorente (to Atletico), Theo Hernandez (to AC Milan) and Raul de Tomas (to Benfica).

Selling is the priority before buying and making money back on those players seems set to be the key to bringing in either Pogba or Eriksen later in the window.

Hopefully, if true, we're can take advantage and get Asensio. I'd still like Isco but that's never happening, plus he's getting on a bit now

these stories are all nice, I like to just read and say who's perspective is this and who's message is it.

We must remember that any story that contains the word pogba has a large part of a certain agent's influence all over it. As such you might find its nothing to do with real or waht real would actually do.

equally there could be a liberal sprinkling of real madrid's reject list all over it that Real are saying come and get em.

The sad thing is that Real Madrid may like to swap with Eriksen, since they cannot get our Mane.

yeah i agree, i think they want eriksen though, whats he going to cost £100 mill?

on the asensio thing, we wont know much yet, will depend on how players do in pre season, similar to karius and us getting allison.

12 months of eriksen deal left. He's not worth 50.

The only thing we know on asensio is that he's not an option in the plan. same as pepe.

there is a plan, we've scouted it for 18 months or more. If a player on the plan comes available (aka alisson) then we might go for it but we won't be buying guys we've not done the analysis on just cos.

    As of now I've read:

    a) that real betis left full is a made up story (only read that yesterday)
    b) pepe is completely made up
    c) asensio was denied as well.

I've not heard one "real link" from anyone I know or from the trusted sources.

aka.... I don't even know if we will get a left full at this point.

Next 2 weeks will tell a lot.

We will just have to make adjustments like we did during last season. Origi is not Firmino but he has a way of playing that the team can make adjustments to accommodate him. Before he went on loan he had 8 and 10 goals respectively. These goals were scored in very limited minutes. For a second team type player those are good numbers. He has the confidence from last season and he should only get better.

maybe but they will be dealing with levy, he would rather keep eriksen, so maybe real might pay it, not saying this for who he plays for, but i would rather eriksen than pogba.

next 2 weeks are key with how we do in pre season, then we might see action in window.

Liverpool have given Rangers first option to sign Ryan Kent.
There is no guarantee that his manager Jürgen Klopp will allow the 22-year-old to leave Anfield on loan again, but Rangers boss Steven Gerrard remains eager to bring him back to Ibrox for a second spell at the club.
Kentwon PFA Scotland's Young Player of the Year award last season after scoring six goals in 43 appearances, andSTV Sportare today reporting that if he does go on loan again it isRangerswho will have first option on him.
The winger is currently with Liverpool for pre-season training, and any decision over his future has been delayed until Klopp has a chance to look over him.

He will go on loan. But we have to make it look as though given a chance.

He will be sold at some point.

It looks like we have a good crop of youngsters who are not quite at the level we require, Woodburn, Kent, and Wilson (to name a few,,) probably won't get a look in. Klopp will no doubt be assessing them over the next few weeks to see who's worth holding on to and who just won't make it.

Sam Allardyce (big Sam) has turned down Newcastle approach. He said "once beaten is twice shy".

can't see Woodburn or Kent but Wilson may stay with first team unless a decent bid comes in .
