So Liverpool are offering him £15k/week less than City and are expecting him to drop down for that?
When it's a roughly £50-60k more than what's he already on, plus a signing on fee - yes.

He's just a backup/rotation/sub player. He wants an opportunity to play a leading role and show he can do it. No other reason to leave City and look at Liverpool tbh...we're not going to win anything next season, we can't really pay him as much so he can only be coming for guaranteed starts. If you watch City you will notice he gets a fair bit of game time there![]()
Milner is currently on £90k. Him turning down an offer of £15k more to stay at city doesn't make him some hard working professional who is interested in getting minutes. If he was, he wouldn't have wasted his prime years sitting on the bench.
And don't forget - he'll be getting a handsome signing on fee which will more than cover the lost £15k.
I don't actually have a problem with Milner believe it or not. If he was a squad player, then I get it. But I think he'll be a first teamer and I don't see what else he brings than Can or Henderson cannot - and on the reported astronomical wages.
It just smacks of wasteful spending, the same level of spending we all complain about except it's in the form of wages and not initial transfer fee ala Lovren. We continue to overspend on players who 'marginally' improve the team, and in some cases, don't offer anything.
The sooner we get a DOF in, the better because this level of spending cannot continue.

He has been offered £165k to stay at City
That`s some rise from £90k![]()
5 midfielders had more minutes than him.A backup player who featured in 32 out of 38 games averaging 54.4 mins/game![]()

BBC saying Milner is 'close'
Will be a solid player to get on a free even on high-ish wages, more of a 'risky bargain' than Balotelli by far as at least we'll deffo get a tune out of Milner as he's reliable meat
Averaging 54 mins is good indication that he's a back up player.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.
We're offering £150k
City are offering £165k
£165k-150k = £15k more
I would think the guy that got the other 36 was backup![]()
So going off your figures City are offering him a £75k pay rise and you are offering him £60k.
Not looking forward to going into next season.
Fan base is divided, similar to when Roy was in charge. Rodgers staying and signing more dross instills no confidence.
And we wonder why players like Suarez and even sterling want to leave. Wonder when Coutinho will finally give up.
Have you considered the possibility that once Sterling goes and Milner comes In, players like Coutinho may think "thank ****, a player with a brain alongside me" .
