but doesn't this tell you that the strength of Dortmund upper structures led to their position.

what part of lfc structures today will assure that when the day comes? do you think it's Hogan etc? Gordan?

jimmy will say Michael Edwards. I'll laugh at him... and it'll go round in circles.

I'd like to see the club develop those upper structures to sustain this when klopp retires to party in the sun (and he can party the mad ****)

The same structure that figured out that they needed a top coach and got Klopp. The same structure that has wasted little in transfers in the last 3 years, the same structure that financed world record fees for a defender and keeper and the same structure that has just done all of that and posted world record profits.

    Just sayin like <whistle>

Upgraded Main stand, upgrading/combining training ground then to upgrade Anfield Road end next.
How much do the likes of Tottenham spend on their delayed stadium, Chelsea haven't even got somewhere to build.

Chelsea had but then gave up in fit of pique.

spurs have seriously screwed themselves imo. I don't think fans realise yet just how badly.

they might have to just sell eriksen this summer rather than lose for free eventually.

    alderweirled too.

that might solve the issue if fees are massive.

Tottenham reportedly fear missing out on the transfer of Adrien Rabiot as Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona look to be in the running.

According to the Daily Star, the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder was heavily tracked by Spurs in January before a deal was put on hold late on.

Naby Keita has been asked about speculation over a Liverpool move for Timo Werner, acknowledging that he would ask his old team-mate to join if he leaves RB Leipzig.

Keita and Werner played alongside each other for two seasons at the Red Bull Arena, joining in the same summer and proving influential in Leipzig’s second-placed finish in the Bundesliga in 2016/17.

But while Keita agreed a deal to join the Reds in 2017, eventually moving to Anfield a year later, speculation has continued over Werner’s next club.

The 22-year-old has delayed a decision over his future but it is widely expected that he will depart Leipzig in the summer, with Liverpool among the clubs touted as a possible destination.

It can be argued that the Reds are still short one top-class attacking option, and with the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi due to leave at the end of the season, Jurgen Klopp could require reinforcements.

The manager has faith in 18-year-old Rhian Brewster, but it could be that he and the versatile Werner both fit into Klopp’s plans.

If that is the case, Keita has vowed to convince the Germany international he should link up with him on Merseyside, with BuLi News relaying quotes from an interview with Sport Bild.

“We played very well together in Leipzig, and he was one of my best friends there,” Keita explained.

“It’s clear: if he’ll be on the move, I’ll ask Timo to join us here at Liverpool.”

he's only ok. I think he will struggle with physical demands of prem ala morata. he's got the skills but we would need to see about the physical part.

Talented young player, very quick and perfect for counter attacking football.

Concern is that we’re now a possession based team, which may not suit him.

We are only a possession based team when sides retreat and let us have it <ok>

we don't set out to have 70% possession like city do. We still try to counter and press. its not easy do it when sides park 10 or even 11 behind ball.

One might argue salah is not a possession based team ideal... pep didn't want aguero originally due to thinking aguero was similar.

Firmino is too loose with the ball as well to suit such a game...

Wijnaludm is suited to it, fabinho is too. Keita... maybe, takes a few risks but we will see.

My view is timo werner would have to up his levels over a year to be able to stick the pace of the prem never mind the cbs being able to assault you with relative impunity
