wonder what the small print is with that then if any trouble occurred. if stewards are not paid until they get to the grounds, who looks after them on coaches etc or responsible for them when travelling? police or stewards expected to but not actually paid for it until they arrive at ground,.
You would think they only get paid for working at the ground and not for travel but as you say there may be small print
Don't think any stewards work for Stadium TM jb, I've got a couple of mates who are stewards, they've had those jobs for around 25 years, I think it's security ie the club shop, the players entrance, inside the turnstiles etc. Although of course I could be wrong.
Can't be that hard. You offer them the contract with the stipulation that they pay the rate that the club would pay if it was employing them directly.
"StadiumTM is a specialist supplier of Traffic Management, Stewarding, Security and Training services to the Events Industry, both nationally and internationally. StadiumTM operates three separate company divisions: "
I was only going off indeed.co.uk reviews for ''working for Stadium TM'' because someone posted that name earlier saying it was a sub-contractor for matchday stewards. From the reviews it seems that Stadium TM employ stewards, traffic marshalls and security for LFC, Wolves, Burnley, Derby and Coventry. They employ all sorts of 'event staff' not just for football clubs.
Back in the day there were only club employees employed by the club, we've gone with the flow since expansion, Everton are still very parochial by comparison.
I think the clubs use Stadium TM for extra staff on an 'as and when' type basis. There's loads of matchday security and stewards and I can't see them all being bussed in, clearly not if you know some of them. If LFC only sub-contract when it's known that they don't have a full complement on matchdays, it could be that they use very few 'external' stewards. Is it remiss of them not to check what Stadium are paying them, yes, probably.
Marko Grujic to join Hertha Berlin on loan after agreeing Liverpool contract extension Liverpool are reportedly set to offer key starter Andy Robertson a new long-term deal at Anfield, one that will see him bag a big pay rise on his current deal. Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
There’s only 2 PL clubs who have fallen foul of the living wage minimum and that’s Liverpool and West Ham. Many sub contract many of their matchday staff and yet they’ve managed to ensure that those staff are paid the living wage. Liverpool made a point of saying in November that all of their staff would be paid the living wage from June, and yet haven’t ensured that their subbies follow suit. It’s poor form.
have you got links to support this as in March only 4 clubs had signed up to pay the Real Living Wage of which only one (Everton) had been accredited by the RLW Foundation.
we must have told the lad he was sold or re-signed and no loan til he did one or other. it's a bloody **** loan for grujic though.. could have been playing in prem.
I may have misinterpreted the article in fairness, as it specifically mentions West Ham as the other club not to have ensured the living wage is paid, but doesn’t make clear if it’s solely referring to the 4 who committed to it, of which Liverpool is one, so it’s still poor form.
well that would still leave Liverpool in better "form" than 16 other PL clubs . From what i've read LFC are working to get contractors pay staff who work for LFC the RLW however i without knowing the terms of the original contract it may be that issue can only be sorted when the contract comes up for renewal.
It should be a simple fix for all clubs to ensure the tender document for any contract states the RLW should be paid and all tenders have to be based on this. Any breach renders the contract void and the contractor is not allowed to tender for any contracts for the club for 2 years
Maybe, as there’s no excuse for any PL to be not paying the living wage. However, if you’re going to make a public commitment then you need to stick to it, and they patently haven’t. As for the contractual situation, any subbie will come to you and ask for an increase when the minimum wage is increased, so going to a contractor and saying you want to ensure the living wage is paid and therefore accept the increment isn’t something that would be prohibited by any contract.
I cannot see why clubs are not paying good wages for workers when they can afford to play players £100000 or more per week.
yes in the renewals as i said but this won't have been in the current contracts Would have thought it was fairly easy to get agreement from the sub contractors to renogotiate the contract if LFC agree to cover the wage increase though policing it that they actiually pay the RLW for the hours worked at LFC might be difficult.
