Always tricky to judge on youtube. Looks likehis reflexes are very good and helped by the speed he gets up. Seems to parry a lot, don't think he caught any of those shots which is a worry if it goes back into the danger zone. Looks quick to close down striker on 1v1's and I think was some stat that he wasn't beaten from outside the box last year or year before which is encouraging.
This^ Forgetting for the moment the complete moral bankruptcy of the current football market, I don't care what we spend on him as long as the club can afford it. A good keeper could make all the difference to our prospects and is therefore invaluable. The thing is, is he really that good? He's looked no more than competent whenever I've seen him.
Might have bene year before, or just in the league. Can't really remember just vaguely remember something like that
I just don't know. it's all part of a puzzle. vvd. kieta. firmino salah. add Allison as go and that's the spine of the team
I suppose the important thing is how few cock-ups he makes, as opposed to how spectacular he appears. Substance rather than style. Only time will tell on that one.
yes I agree. a world class save in a key game is great but not.making mistakes in the long run yields far more points over the season.
This as well. Now Robbo isn't the best defender in the world, but he made the left side more solid. VVD is a very very good defender, and made the middle more solid. Get a keeper than can add that stability as well and suddenly within a season you go from a shaky defence and keeper who are constantly making mistakes (Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Moreno & Mig/Karius) to one that may give you that reliable 7/10 every week. We don't need a keeper to be the best thing since slice bread, making 20 saves a game. We need one that's going to not **** up, do the simple things and stay focussed. Now, you'd think you should be able to get a reliable keeper pretty easily, but we're generally always buying from lower clubs where keepers face more shots and don't spend 89 minuts doing nothing and then have 1 shot that needs saving to win the game. Those keepers already play for the top teams, so if you want one of them going to have to pay big.
so.... in other news. the already announced Rhian Brewster contract was formally signed today. taiwo awoniyi signed a new deal as well. (highly likely to be loaned out very shortly) Harry Wilson also signed a long term deal and them was loaned out. do you think Brewster will be sent on loan?
Been out injured for a while so might start off in U23's until Jan. Can't see any clubs taking a risk on him yet
