Wasn't overly bothered if we got him or not mate, made that clear before. Think he's a great signing for you lot though as I said on this thread a month or so back.
For that price it's an excellent signing. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on playing with quality players. That Stoke side couldn't have been less suited to him if they tried.
Certainly gives you depth, your bench was shocking towards the end of last season. Be interesting to see how he gets on with not playing as regularly
I don't think Shaqiri actually is lazy, but his inconsistency worries me a lot, particularly if we're expecting top 4 or even title challenging performances from him coming off the bench, or filling in to allow Salah/Mane to rest. Financially though, the signing makes sense.
I was thinking the same but then you need to consider the couthino money PLUS add the accrued number from the last 3 years where we’ve had a negative net spend just as our coffers where being filled by tv money. I actually think that Keita and VvD where within our budget last year. Klopp certainly didn’t want to sell Couthino. So this year, you have the couthino money plus the regular (and inflated) tv money plus the CL money. Could be a tidy sum. (£120m + £60m + £80m - these are just what I’ve read but you get the point. I think we do have more to spend and ffp is ok as it’s over a 3 year period. Desperate for a keeper though!
we will see. we have been waiting for 3 years to see the money. 105mil seems to me to be quite a bit but if we line up 3 more signings to bring total to 6 new players (which in May I said we needed) Allison 60mil fekir 50mil? add whoever else was mentioned at min 30 mil. we might as well say 250mil new spend. that's city territory. there's rules on wage increase in prem and ftp too so... something has to give somewhere after that.
Probably need to compare the net spending over 3 years versus Utd and City. If they’ve spent significantly more than that, then it’s lilely we’re good. If it’s the same, you’re spot on.
Utd 136 102 28 City 174 165 74 Chelsea 107 51 9 Us -28 (inc vvd and coutinho) -6 28 Make of it what you will.

Football finance is a very different thing to the real world but I’d like to think that we have another decent signing in us and then it’s sell sell sell
We are looking very strong in the midfield. The team that wins the battle of midfield usually win the game
