Don't get some of the Shaqiri negativity from some Pool fans, i think he's a very good player and under Klopp, has every chance of upping his game. Remember he is still young at 26 and can learn more, playing with top class players like Mo and Firmino.

He is strong, keeps the ball well, keeps the game flowing and is a fighter.

Think he just doesn’t seem the sort to fit in with the work ethic that Salah Firm and Mane put in but I say this about all signings that they prob aren’t asked to play that way in old clubs so we have no idea if they can do it at new one. Manage must see something in him that suggests they think he can

I'm not interested in the fee as if he works out we wont sell him on before he is 30.

what I am interested in is how he fits in and works.

will he work hard and keep going if he is just a sub?

once that's answered the fee is irrelevant.

The fee is important. You're getting him for a relatively low price in today's window. He's coming to a high profile attack minded club, under a top quality manager. The chances are he should improve and look good doing it. At only 26, his fee will get significantly higher if things go in a very positive direction, evidence suggests that Klopp improves more than he doesn't. When it does come to selling him, you will get a tidy profit that you can plow back into the squad. Realistically you won't be able to compete with City for the biggest names, so generating more revenue becomes important to stay competitive. It's pretty much what Arsenal have to do as well.

As a player he looks like he can do a lot - technically very good on the ball, strong, passes well and has an eye for goal. Sounds like he can slot right into a Klopp team. If you can make Oxo look better then i'm sure Klopp can make Shaqiri work, who i think is technically better on the ball. The season is long and there are plenty of cups to participate in, he should get a chance. Also players will get injured and out of form, which will give him a chance. Liverpool have a very good first team but lack the depth, they have done well in the transfer market but still carry baggage, which they may get rid of. This will give him even more chances to play.

Maybe his effort levels were down because he was at Stoke and lets face it, they're **** as ****!

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not due back till later in the year or early in the new year,
Shaqiri is going to be a good backup.

Oxo may find it hard to break back into the team if Shaqiri has a flier. Also, Oxo hasn't lit the world on fire with either Arsenal or Liverpool, though he looks a bit better under Klopp. Oxo had a lot to prove at Arsenal but failed, he still has to prove it for Liverpool. He hasn't shown any consistency at the highest level to suggest he is a top 4 player. The jury is still out on him.

I wouldn't care if it was 13, 33 or 53mil if he works out. We are not really interested in selling. Its the same as Ox. peopel baulked at the fee but he worked out nicely.

We wouldn't prob be able to sell him for what we paid even if he was not injured but his attitude wass fantastic.

Just cos we could turn round tomorrow and seel shaqirir for 25mil.. who cares?

its all about attitude here.

Ox = CM.

Shaqiri = left wing/right wing cover

thats my view.

I agree attitude is important, but sadly money has become so crazy nowadays that well established clubs like Liverpool have to look at revenues. Football now is big business.

As for his attitude, i haven't heard a great deal negative about him, is he a problem child? Klopp is a great man manager so i'm sure he will find ways of dealing with minor issues.

Also how I see this signing. Last year we didn’t really have cover other than Ox stepping into a more attacking role.

What is Ox's true position? He was at Arsenal for a millions years and still couldn't hold down a single position. Has he got the technical skill to hold down a CM role? Shaqiri comes across as a better bet there.

Money is only am issue for the modern day fan that spent years in a bedroom playing Football Manager or Championship Manager. In reality, money means football means ****all to us.

CM for us but he can play further forward too.

Gerrard was best at AM but didn't stop him playing CM, DM, LM, RM, RB, CF....

Fabregas was best at CM but it didn't stop Wenger trying to mate him a AM

AOC was excellent in CM when he broke into the team. A dead cert starter.

Literally miles away from what he did at Arsenal.

Klopp couldn't play him for a few months because the arsenal fitness regime was no where near what he expects. Once he got to our level of fitness he was flying.

have to disagree there. Had some good games. Was hit and miss but certainly worked hard. He's always had the skills except decision making
