Say we pay 80mil for him
A gk can play into his late 30’s which means we could get a good 10/12 years out of this player.
If he is successful he gets sold at profit - it’s a win win
The other thing with goalies is generally they don’t tend to turn shocking rapidly - though I still don’t trust our coaching
strikers can be very temperamental goalies not so much.Either way 8mil a year for a work class goalie would not be a disaster rather than forking anything between 15-45 mil every two three years

With Keita coming in and VvD getting a full pre-season, we'll already start next year in a better position.
For me, we still need cover for the front 3 to allow proper rotation, another Midfielder (I assume Can will go) and another CB. As well as the keeper.
In today's market, that's probably too many to get in one window unless we get lucky with quality free transfers, though most of those are accounted for.

I the £62m originally quoted is more likely. The transfer market will go nuts this summer as Real Madrid dump half a billion into it, I suspect that we'll try to do our business early and then sit back and watch the mayhem.
Key question for me is how much we will have to spend? £140m Couthino fee? Plus annual budget? Could be as high as £200m Without player sales. Will probably be a net £50m spend!
