BREAKING: Liverpool have held preliminary talks over a summer move for Roma goalkeeper Allison. Roma value him at £62m. (@SkySports)
great but not great. perfer it to be deathly quiet til the current keepers have done the job this season. great for us to know but can unsettle incumbants we need to perform now.
Good keeper but a ridiculous asking price. No doubt Roma will have Salah in mind when they negotiate this deal.
Liverpool could stick with Loris Karius instead of buying a £70m goalkeeper this summer. @_ChrisBascombe reports
Not sure Totally believe getting the goalie right is immensely important to your defense. Say we pay 80mil for him A gk can play into his late 30’s which means we could get a good 10/12 years out of this player. If he is successful he gets sold at profit - it’s a win win The other thing with goalies is generally they don’t tend to turn shocking rapidly - though I still don’t trust our coaching strikers can be very temperamental goalies not so much. Either way 8mil a year for a work class goalie would not be a disaster rather than forking anything between 15-45 mil every two three years
Liverpool have withdrawn interest in Alisson due to the fee/Klopp’s faith in Loris Karius. Simon Mignolet is set to leave Anfield this summer, says @_pauljoyce
Me too. We need a top keeper and he'd be worth a few addditional points a season (see de Gea). With Keita coming in and VvD getting a full pre-season, we'll already start next year in a better position. For me, we still need cover for the front 3 to allow proper rotation, another Midfielder (I assume Can will go) and another CB. As well as the keeper. In today's market, that's probably too many to get in one window unless we get lucky with quality free transfers, though most of those are accounted for.
I agree. I just think the scramble shown on this story means it was true and lfc are worried karius might implode so are trying to get the friendly media to say no story. The reality is if we are talking now we are trying to get a 40-50 mil price
I the £62m originally quoted is more likely. The transfer market will go nuts this summer as Real Madrid dump half a billion into it, I suspect that we'll try to do our business early and then sit back and watch the mayhem. Key question for me is how much we will have to spend? £140m Couthino fee? Plus annual budget? Could be as high as £200m Without player sales. Will probably be a net £50m spend!
true but you know us right now over klopps entire tenure we are negative net spend.... think about that... add Keita and we will be just about into the red at 10mil. if lfc don't have 100million min to spend then fsg are serious schisters I agree about getting it done pre world cup. gk cb cm wide forward/striker
indeed. I think we all agree on priorities at this point. The team is quite predictable in a reasonably good way. GK is weak - we know it TAA IMO will be a super RB if we give him time. Gomez covering is good. Matip - not up to it. i will now agree with @Jimmy Squarefoot too many errors. gomez moving there now is a risk. VVD locks that spot down perfect. Robertson has done ok but moreno is an accident waiting to happen No 6. henderson.. hummm... sigh... We need to buy here No 8s Kieta, ox.. who knows what klop pwants there. Windy, lallana etc. Strike force picks itself but then i see ings and solanke as the options and i worry. Origi and sturridge are gone maybe. origi has talked it up. the guy has scored 5 goals total at wolfsburg so he's not back his talk. We are close but we need to invest in the spine of the team IMO. IF we do IF.... we can actually win something imo
