yeah, arguably his first was a bit as well as his second. They were soft yellows but we know mike dean is a spurs fan. They were all over us anyway in that first half, partly cause Bakayoko played them in twice and kept losing the ball lol. He was pretty solid at the start of the season like the scouse mo sissoko (energetic physical can tackle but can't pass for toffee or control a ball) but he was awful last night, one of the worse performances i've seen. He's been pretty poor though and Conte for some reason thinks he's a box to box midfielder trying to make him run forward (or he is doing it) except that all he does is take up space and compact the play more cause he is so poor on the ball

Know nothing about him. Played quite a few games since making debut at 15 so obv a decent talent. Loaned to Mallorca for work permit, 3rd tier in Spain (didnt k ownthey seopped so low!). One to keep an eye on.
i've seen them not given. I guess it's soft because of the first 1. Player isn't going anywhere, wasn't even that late. I think we'll get 4th. At least he hasn't downed tools like a lot of players do these days. He's still giving 100% which is good to see. His contract is up so he has every right to leave. He owes us nothing, he's not a local lad so we don't exactly mean much to him.
his 100% is a relative term though. But i agree we paid 10mil as componsation to leverkusen or whoever for thier loss and agreed a 5 year spell. This is the reality the people do seem to forget. Transfer fees are compensation payments for loss of a player's services. Players (despite amortisation) are not assets on a balance sheet like a capital item is in a company making widgets. Pleayers are contracted staff providing a service. They are in fact only worth something if someone wants to pay you compensation for the loss of their services This is why alarm bells (IMO) should right when people at a club start talking about increasing the value of the balance sheet through player values. Rafa did this to justify his existance. The market has the vast majority of impact on this. My view is a player is your for the 5 years of his deal. then all bets are off so the fee paid must be recouped during the 5 years. be it in performance related fees (trophies) or imaging activities etc. My view is ronaldo for 80 odd mil.. made sense to real madrdi as a business deal over 5 years. Bale 85? not so sure but they thought it did. Neymar? sorry no not over 5 years. 200mil? Coutinho? Madness Messi on 500k per week at 29/30? hmmmmm.. vanity. If you are paying 75mil for a defender... well... you better be able to make 75mil off him in imaging rights for 5 years... don't depend on 35mil coming back in 3 years when you sell on etc.
There are the hidden gains in terms of a player being a crucial element in bringing success, and therefore money, to the club - though they're more difficult to evaluate. Having said that, you know I think the whole business is ****ing crazy and immoral.
