Being linked with Vidal today. No chance we'd be signing him....
Without CL or a big name manager or a world class player in our midst then how on earth are we going to get anything better than the scraps this summer? I can see we may be on the brink of a vicious cycle here.

Offering £100k to Milner is better than offering it to Sterling
Pipe dream sadly. Quality player - the perfect CM. For those who rate Milner and Henderson, they need to look at players like Vidal, Mascherano etc. It's all well and good being a workhorse, but you need to have quality on the ball also.
Big name manager and DoF are required if we want to attract better quality.
A big name manager would be enough wouldnt it without a DOF, a lot of managers dont like the DOF especially big name managers
Nothing against BR as I like him but after 3 years we dont seem to have a clear direction. I know you want Klopp but what if he gets abetter offer elsewhere? Than who would you get in?
De Boer has said that hes staying at Ajax. Rafa? I dont know, I dont think the owners are keen. Then who? Who else is there?
Although its been a ****ty season we've still made Europa, my biggest concern is how easy it seems to be for us to get beat, especially when it really matters
Ancelotti?
on his way out of Madrid it seems...
I don't think anyone is saying that Milner and Henderson are the best midfielders in the world, just because you rate someone doesn't mean you don't appreciate that their are better players.
But it like you say, we can't attract that top quality player, were 3rd tier at the moment behind the likes of arsenal, city, Dortmund atletico.
We we need to build a team who can fit together with the odd bit of quality. A midfield of hendo, Milner, can and courinho wisnt awful. Those 3 can provide a solid base (while Milner is actually pretty creative) and it'll allow coutinho to not worry about the defensive part and just concentrate on doing what he does best.
De Boer, Klopp, Emery would be my top choices.
Ive seen you speak about De Boer and Klopp in the past but why Emery?
Agree - we can't target the world class players but we can certainly do better than Milner.
And most of the top managers work in a DoF structure. It's the normal across the continent. The only big club that doesn't operate in that way is Arsenal and that's because Wenger has earnt that power.
We need to do what we've done in the past and find the next Alonso, Suarez, Torres etc players who are not yet seen as world class but have the ability to become just that. Finding them is the trick.
They're all over Europe. But it's no use when Rodgers thinks Lallana and Lovren are such players.
