What's a "big" club anyway? Depends on your point of view. There's a solid handful of clubs who can look down on us atm, but an awful lot more looking up. We're not what we used to be, it's true, but like you say we're certainly within grasping distance of it, if a number of factors came together. There are too many people with not enough experience, or who aren't perceptive enough, to understand that things change and that the status quo isn't set in stone. I wonder what they'd have said about Utd when they were in the doldrums for 20 odd years?
Exactly, Mills chose a narrative where he could get away with saying we aren't a big club but if he'd have been talking about sponsorship, income or other factors he'd be wrong. The era in the club you mentioned's history has been airbrushed out to a large extent, but during those years when Busby's team gradually diminished and retired they had to make do with lesser players from the lower league's like Hill and Pearson and Coppul etc, but in the end with a combo of luck, youth and expertise and the dawn of the PL things clicked for the ****s. What's that I hear in the distance?, could it be the click we've been waiting for?.......nah it was just the arthritis in me knee...
Of course we haven't and nobody sensible (which means 99.99999% of our fans) believes we are. Hell, even back in the day when were kings, so to speak, Laudrup picked Barca over us, didn't he? Rush picked Juventus over us. Lack of 'pull' isn't what caused this crisis with Ford though - it was more due to planning and/or dealing with a club that thought cheaply even though they had £200m in their pocket.
No harm...but Danny Mills is a nobody lol. I genuinely couldn't give 2 ****s what little thoughts pop into his head other than a slight irritation that my licence fee money goes to pay for such a nobody to air those opinions. There's literally a hundred ex players that did more than him the Beeb could have selected.
There is no mileage in saying Coutino to stay. To say he has to go cos it's a bigger club makes you look like your opinion has insight and knowledge where as it means **** all in reality.
News takes a lot longer to get to Southampton it seems - he also thinks there's a list of words that aren't allowed to be used to Liverpool fans.
Is it the bit where he says that Liverpool aren't a big club and nobody wants to come to them anymore, or the thought that your captain is desperately doing what he can to get out of Soton to go to a small club that nobody wants to go to?
Sound mate, but if a club that's been champions of Europe 5 times is small it means saints are as big as big as a microbes bollocks.
I only have your health as my main concern, a stutter could be a sign of stress. Do you support a club that has not signed many players this transfer window? This is often the cause of stress. Relax with this beer I have bought you
If true, ,(which is believable tbf considering LBJ is only in it for the $$$$$'s anyway), his shares should be bought back by FSG, he isn't the spokesman for them and is a minor shareholder and as such keep his grid shut.
