Ideally, if we had really good owners, we'll take it right to deadline day, get them up to £120m and still say no so that it's too late for them to get another target.

We're (according to Forbes and Deloitte)in the top 10 richest football clubs on the planet, yet we seem to be seen as paupers by others on the same top 10.

Btw, if Coutinho's such a 'good egg', wtf is he doing 'agreeing' a contract behind our backs? Or was it behind Klopp's back, with FSG fully conversant? I don't trust the ****ers one iota.
he hasn't agreed a contract behend our backs as no contract has been agreed.
What may have happened is ,just like we do, his agent has been approached by an intermediary who have ascertained
a) he would happily sign for buying club
b) what sort of weekly wage the player wants if he moves to the buying club.

You better get those last 3 players cos they will be the difference between nothing and improvement for you.

Serious unimpressed with Rooney up front. You need that striker.. badly

Rooney can't play up top, we need a replacement for Lukaku, and landing one isn't easy.

Sigurdsson is a good player though.

Only we've not sold one player for big money that hadn't demanded to leave, and in case you hadn't noticed, we spent nearly £100m this summer before Lukaku went. That couldn't and wouldn't have happened under the previous regime.

Lescott, Arteta, Stones and now Lukaku.

Every club in the food chain is a selling club.

Let's face it, Barca have just become PSG's bitches so I guess you're right!

Wishful thinking on your part that.

He's put £80m of his own cash in, to clear our entire debt and leave some additional working capital.

He's got us to the brink of a ground move to the Docks that would have been unthinkable only a year before his arrival.

He's a clever bloke, and is proving it.

I hope you're right. All Banter aside, I'm a red who wants a strong Merseyside....two top teams and big names coming to the City will entice others to come.

They've been hanging on for Giroud, but it looks like he's now staying at Arsenal

Saw Welbeck linked......nooooooooo ffs.

Benteke or Das Bost the other names that have been bandied about.

Not wishful thinking at all. Banter aside, I don't want Everton taken advantage of, in terms of how the club is run etc. we know what that's like.

As for the ground move, wouldn't have happened without the council. Joe's been the clever one with that. Getting agreement re the CG as well. Whether or not they come to Liverpool, no owner should have compromised the ground build like that. It proves the council are driving this and not the owner.

Seems Coutinho is in a bit of a pickle. He wants to go to Barca at some point, Barca want him now but Coutinho doesn't want to screw Liverpool over having previously suggested giving us another 12 months to see where things are.

If Barca come back, and they probably will in the next few days, he'll have a big decision to make because if FSG's take is on not selling and he decides he wants to go, they'll have one unhappy player on their hands.

I actually don't think FSG nor Klopp want to sell him, but these days players have so much power that I don't think they'll have much of an option; sell him now, or agree to sell him next summer saying that he needs to keep playing at a high level to get into the Brazil squad.

Agent will say my client is on this and wants this... Barca will say yeah that's fine. And will be 'agreed'. Be all agent info rather than player himself

There's no suggestion he's taking advantage of us, so you can rest easy mate :)

We've discussed the second bit before, until the stadium plans are released it's impossible to say whether it's any form of compromise.

I think he'd face difficulty even if he wanted to go. Like many have pointed out - doesn't seem the type to kick up a fuss and I'm sure he knows in the back of his mind that PSG and Barcelona would both be in for him come next summer.

I think he should take the opportunity to play with a really good team this year and take a pick of the above next year. Unlike VVD he is still earning a really good amount at the moment.

Ideal situation is he stays, has a cracker of a WC and we sell above £100m next season to PSG or Barca.
