Said it before, will say it again; Can't sell Coutinho as there's simply no one else (realistically) who can replace his contribution to our team. His vision is going to be absolutely crucial to releasing Salah and Mane as we've seen in pre-season already.

What good is £130million if we'll just buy a CB (who we can apparently afford anyway) and another midfielder who won't be as good? We'll have all the ammunition but no one to fire them forward - for want of a better analogy. There's a reason Barca want him and haven't moved on to another target, he's one of the best in that role in the world who isn't already in a team with CL winning potential.

We have to keep him and build around him. If we sell him, how long before the others start to consider their future?

Totally and utterly agree, especially if we're talking £90 - 100m. As you say, we already have the money for VVD and Keita, so we have no need to sell if/when they become available, and we're still hoping to get £30m for sakho (though if we don't get VVD I think we'd be ****ing insane to sell, but that's Jurgen's call).

All that said, to get £130m+ of Barca's Neymar would be ****ing sweet, especially as they'll pay the agent's fees too, and hopefully we'll ask Ford to put in a TR.

But Barca are playing the victim card and are looking for favours, so maybe we should do them a favour? How about this: we save them the price of an airfair by saying they don't need to keep sending representatives to London to meet Ford's agent unless they have a ****ing big, fat £135m cheque with our name on it?

Inter Milan have denied any interest in Liverpool star Sadio Mane, according to the latest reports from Sky Italia. The news yesterday was that the Nerazzurri had identified the Senegalese star as a potential replacement for Antonio Candreva - who is himself rumoured to leave the

Nerazzurri after scoring eight goals and made eleven assists in all competitions in his maiden

Damn, and after they pushed the boat out and offered us £35m.....:emoticon-0120-doh:

That's where the calculations go drastically wrong. Barcelona get £196m for one player. Do you think they will get 3 players of high quality at £65m
each? No, because every player worth their salt at that sort of level will not be let go easily by their clubs who will see the buyers coming from a mile away. So instead of being worth £65m they are now worth £100-£120m.

So then LFC gets £100- 120m (if Barcelona pay that price), some think we'll get two good quality players for £50-60m each. Cloud cuckoo land. people see you are rich and the players you want are very difficult to extract from their clubs anyway if they are any good. The £50m player is now worth £85m and not equal to the player you've just sold. So all you get is one very good player and 2-3 others not worth anything at all except as squad or EFL Cup players.

History have taught us that and that most clubs do not gain except those at the end of the chain.. Coutinho is going to be sold IMO but I wish he wasn't ...at any price or as Donga said, for £130m but I fear he will sold for much less.

All of what you said is true, but nonetheless we should screw Barca for every penny, starting at £135m because they're desperate AND have money - juicy. And, in a now perfect storm, PSG need to shed good players in a market where a lot of clubs have already spunked their budgets - Jucier.

Barcelona will look at Philippe Coutinho and Angel di Maria as options to replace Neymar, according to transfer expert Gabriele Marcotti.

As my dad once said to me before Christmas when I told him I had my eye on a Claude Butler mountain bike 'You can keep your eye on it son, but you won't be getting your arse on it'.

Surely we must look at some PSG players now. If we were willing to spend that crap load on Keita, why not try for Verrati? Players like Lucas Moura don't get too much game time as it is, would be a great option for us up top too.
