That's right he'll need to perform during a WC season so won't want to be sat on the bench sulking or on the pitch playing badly. I still don't think he'll go anyway. I don't think he wants to, but maybe that's the old romantic in me.
this is the key point imo for coutinho ITS A WORLD CUP YEAR. coutinho can **** himself up very easily of lfc say no deal. I think this is key, long contract and i we hold out... well... we get more next year. Same as ketia bolloxology. except no release clause so no freaking way we should sell
I have no issue if Coutinho wants to go. if Barca are desperate we may as well ask for 150 million. Having said, that what stops Barca buying Dembele and VVD
Everton eye Emre Mor: Liverpool and Arsenal step up interest, Dortmund willing to sell EVERTON are ready to challenge rivals Liverpool and Arsenal to the signing of Borussia Dortmund ace Emre Mor. Liverpool’s top centre-back target Virgil Van Dijk has been ‘badly advised’ by his agent and may have thrown away any chances of getting his dream move to Liverpool, according to Yahoo Sport. On Wednesday morning it was confirmed that Van Dijk has refused to return to training and has told the club that he is still desperate to move to Liverpool. The Saints had hoped that he would re-join his teammates in their preparations for the season this week, but Van Dijk is standing firm.
Said it before, will say it again; Can't sell Coutinho as there's simply no one else (realistically) who can replace his contribution to our team. His vision is going to be absolutely crucial to releasing Salah and Mane as we've seen in pre-season already. What good is £130million if we'll just buy a CB (who we can apparently afford anyway) and another midfielder who won't be as good? We'll have all the ammunition but no one to fire them forward - for want of a better analogy. There's a reason Barca want him and haven't moved on to another target, he's one of the best in that role in the world who isn't already in a team with CL winning potential. We have to keep him and build around him. If we sell him, how long before the others start to consider their future?
PSG are stacked with midfielders and forward players if Neymar joins: Veratti, Motta, Matuidi, Pastore and Krychowiak for the central spots Draxler, Ben Arfa, Rabiot, Lucas Moura, Cavani, Jese, Di Maria for the wide and forward spots This isn't even including backups who played 5-10 games each. Add Neymar and there'll be some disgruntled players in that squad wanting game time, never mind the money PSG will have to free up. We should definitely be sniffing around some of them.
Inter Milan have denied any interest in Liverpool star Sadio Mane, according to the latest reports from Sky Italia. The news yesterday was that the Nerazzurri had identified the Senegalese star as a potential replacement for Antonio Candreva - who is himself rumoured to leave the Nerazzurri after scoring eight goals and made eleven assists in all competitions in his maiden
Yep....they will have to unload too. If Couthino does go, and only IF, the money could fund 3 or 4 decent players with high potential. Draxler, Pulisic, Mor could all be funded by his transfer fee with some to spare. Add a CB (vvd?) and a top midfielder and we'd be proper set for the future....although granted, none would replace Couthino right now....
Neymar labelled a 'traitor' Barcelona supporters have already shown their disgust at seeing Neymar leave for PSG by labelling the 25-year-old attacker 'a traitor'. A fan has put up a wanted poster with the words 'Wanted: traitor and mercenary' on it. please log in to view this image
That's where the calculations go drastically wrong. Barcelona get £196m for one player. Do you think they will get 3 players of high quality at £65m each? No, because every player worth their salt at that sort of level will not be let go easily by their clubs who will see the buyers coming from a mile away. So instead of being worth £65m they are now worth £100-£120m. So then LFC gets £100- 120m (if Barcelona pay that price), some think we'll get two good quality players for £50-60m each. Cloud cuckoo land. people see you are rich and the players you want are very difficult to extract from their clubs anyway if they are any good. The £50m player is now worth £85m and not equal to the player you've just sold. So all you get is one very good player and 2-3 others not worth anything at all except as squad or EFL Cup players. History have taught us that and that most clubs do not gain except those at the end of the chain.. Coutinho is going to be sold IMO but I wish he wasn't ...at any price or as Donga said, for £130m but I fear he will sold for much less.
To find a coutinho.... A) they need to be already identified. B) they need to be at the right contract duration and ready to move. The ideal is off buy now and hold coutinho to sell later. LIKE EVERTON tried to do with lukaku... sure they forgot to actually fet a striker but still the point is valid. There's 2 weeks left now, if we sell then buy... oh boy the risk of errors is huge. And I agree on the fees. Barca can **** off with 89mil. You can't get a cb for 70 now.
Seriously imo the way things are going contracts are becoming gold. No club can afford to buy out contracts like this every year. They just can't. If coutinho decided to sign a long deal... OR vvd.... then that is saying I'm not available to everyone. It's really only 2 years or less to go where deals could be made and imo frees like ox and Barkley and can will become more normal. Play, give 100% for 5 years and move on. If you sign a long contract don't expect to be able to walk out. On the other hand...... If a player acts like vvd... oh boy.. it's no win for anyone, club is damaged in the market, player looks stupid and agent looks scrummy.
Yes I agree. It's all perfect world stuff. For anything like this to be accurate, we'd have needed to buy first....let's just hope we don't sell him at all.
