I think he got out of shape for sure, how much of that is just genetics and how much is down to lifestyle and effort, we'll see in the coming months. He won't get into Koeman's side unless he's capable of playing the high pressing game that he's developing, and to do that he's going to have to be much, much fitter than he was last season at United. Been told he's lost 7Kgs this summer, which is a good start, it's ultimately up to him, but commercially it's a no lose deal for us.
How can RvN and Van Persie be classed as having a bigger impact at United than Rooney? Given that they only played there for 5 and 3 years respectively? The others are a matter of subjective opinion, Giggs maybe for his longevity, but impact? Not so sure.
Milks post stated he wasn't the best at his club and that he wasn't in the top 5 in the team. RVN was the main man when rooney was around, RVP had the bigger impact and was the better player in all the seasons they shared. Of course Rooney was there for longer and so you are probably right that the body of work Rooney has makes him a bigger legend for United fans. As for the better player or bigger impact per season, not sure about that.
I can't have a Rooney conversation as I just know that my bias towards the little ****er will get in the way. He's ****, has always been **** and will always be ****. Nothing is going to get in the way of that. Nailed on red in the first derby btw.
Only Giggs and Scholes get ahead of him in the Top 50 all time United players. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...anchester-United-players-ever-the-top-50.html
Which of that list do you think Rooney was better than during the same seasons they were together then?
Yes but even you don't agree with that. You were fuming that i had put Giggs above rooney and he's apparantly they best United player there ever was according to that article
Fuming? I think not, I questioned whether his impact was greater, or was it more his longevity that gave him the legend status ahead of WR.
Sorry not fume. Misused. What did Rooney do that was greater than RVN and RVP when they were playing together?
Giggs and Scholes it's impossible to argue that they weren't more important than Rooney. You could replace Rooney with any other decent forward and still win. Oh.. and maybe Beckham should be there too. Rooney was totally Ronaldo's bitch. It's ludicrous you think Rooney is better than Ronaldo. Same with RVN. RVN was above Rooney on pecking order when they both shared the team and a much more natural player. RVN could arguably have been said to be one of best forwards in league when playing. Only Henry was better. I would say Ferdinand is more important and better, but defenders get no love. I have a strong feeling you wouldn't be having such Rooney love if he wasn't your player.
Probably hasn't make the impact that some pundits were hoping for when he first started at Everton but that's because the media in this country always have unrealistic expectations. Set up to "fail".
